From The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD to Splatoon, the Wii U has a lot of games that are still worth playing. Let's take a look at the top 10 Wii U games!
Among standouts like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and Super Mario Maker, the Wii U has lesser known gems such as Affordable Space Adventures and NES Remix Pack. While a lot of games like MArio Kart 8 got ported to Switch, there is still plenty of reasons to pick up a Wii U today, including Xenoblade Chronicles X, a game that has never left the console. This list doesn't include virtual console or Wii games, as that would be a separate list entirely!

Wii U had some great games. Sad that Nintendo made such weird/bad decisions when making the console. I'm glad a lot of these amazing games are getting the love they deserve and a new life on the switch though.

The Wii U is the Sega Dreamcast of its generation
Xenoblade X was my first open world game
Xenoblade Chronicles X is a hidden gem. It was so nice how you could have a team of mechs that can transform at will like Transformers. It really had that Xenogears feel to it and the customization options for the characters and mechs were quite impressive

Literally playing on my WiiU now. Playing NBA 2K13 my career because there's no microtransactions!

The Wii U is my favorite Nintendo console, even above Switch. It might take a while to be sufficiently appreciated, but having such incredible games, full backwards comparability with Wii including a built-in sensor bar on the game pad, and access to GBA and DS games makes it the best, in my opinion. Nintendo’s greatest asset is their willingness to innovate around really imaginative ideas, and that’s on full display here. Poor sales and people continuing to complain today about “misguided” design choices convince me that this console was incredibly ahead of its time. Hopefully more people realize how incredible this thing is but if not, at least I’ll still have my favorite console and a ton of awesome games to play with my friends.

They’re not, Wind Waker is in the GameCube and Twilight Princess is on the GameCube and Wii.

The touch screen menus and maps were so perfect for Zelda
Can't believe the Wii U didn't do well. Most of the highest selling Switch games are ports of the Wii U.

That’s because the Wii U was a failure in terms of marketing.
One time my friend was at my house and he saw my yoshi wooly world amibo and said "is that supposed to be from yoshis crafted world?" So so sad 😞
Wind waker is my childhood with the GC, wii U looks cool too though

Because Splatoon 2 was better in every way and also made better on Switch, thus this game taking an unnecessary spot on the list.

Star Fox Zero The gameplay mechanics, pacing, action, level design, fights are amazing. Hits on the right spots of nostalgia and feel of Star Fox 64 while being a whole new game Definitely forgotten, specially since not ported or anything 😅

@@46Arkie the controls is what held it back. It forced you to have to look at the small screen on the controller instead of the TV screen to play correctly just like the Kirby game. They should have just kept it traditional
xenoblade chronicles x is legendary
Metroid Prime Trilogy definitely deserves a spot on the list.

Dungeons and Dragons, the 2 games Arcade compilation it's a Wii U exclusive and it has online features. Two wonderful games, specially Shadow over Mystara.
Xenoblade chronicles x was the best game on here with hours of content
Still waiting on both Zelda remasters to get ported to Switch, especially Windwaker HD
Currently playing Yoshi’s Wooly world and man the graphics and gameplay are gorgeous!
Game & Wario was great, almost got played as much as Nintendo Land at my house
All great Wii U/ports. And those are just the ones NOT on switch!

If Nintendo had named Wii U something else, it would have sold much better…so many people got confused and thought it’s just an extra controller for a Wii or something…they should have named it just U or something else.

Remasters are not Wii U games, they’re GameCube games remastered.
Except for people who kept there's or rebought it...

Yoshi's woolly world is basically yoshi's crafted world, twilight princess and wind waker are both remakes, and both splatoon and mario maker also each have sequels on the switch that could scratch the itch

Xeno X is that unbelievable. It's clunky and faulty yet the best of its kind by such a margin. It even has some of the best (and worst) OST out there.

In a perfect world, yeah. But Nintendo is a business so they only care about money.
When a console or game does bad and has poor sales, it becomes more rare, and then prices aky rocket with time!
Keep telling Nintendo and eventually they will port them
Putting games that have a sequel on switch kinda defeats the purpose of the video.
Nintendo messed up big time with the Wii U. If they had matched the PS4 and Xbox One Specs and put a better name and a better marketing campaign, it would have done well.
