WARNING! Be sure to remove sd card prior to opening up the deck or it might break your sd card when opening your deck and disconnect the battery before installing new SSD for electric issues. Merry christmas and have fun decking! : )

Then this means it is not a common sense thing. Not everyone is knowledgeable with tech stuff. That's why products are usually made to be fool proof. If a lot of people kept breaking the same thing, then it's the design fault

Your steam deck customization is very cute! I like the colors and thumb grips you chose! This was cozy and great video!
It's very easy to upgrade the internal storage, I did the same thing on my 64GB model (upgraded it to 512GB) with ease (it took 10-20 mins to get all done). It's the best investment I've ever made in a long time. I'm so glad it's also a PC where you can do the normal things with it (apart from gaming). Thank you so much for the likes guys.

The best dollar per GB option is to buy 2 or more 512 GB micro SD cards, if you can manage your game library properly. For example, I will use one micro SD card for AAA games (which I won't install all of them at the same time, obviously) and use the other for emulation + indie games. And I spent less than 90 bucks on them. But that's for people who are budget-oriented. Changing the internal storage is also a good option if you don't mind the extra spending.

@@carlosbarreto4695 You're most definitely right if I'm remembering the prices correctly. One benefit to upgrading the internal storage though, is not having your OS be as limited in case you want to Dual Boot with windows and not be limited in programs you install onto the internal storage. I'm not sure how well non-steam programs run on the micro SDs, especially on Windows, but I suspect they wouldn't run well, if at all.

@@angelnajera7169 I've seen people saying they have installed Windows on a micro SD. But yes, if you want to dual boot and use it like a Windows PC, maybe upgrading the SSD is a must.

@@angelnajera7169 general SD cards aren't ideal for constant reads/writes, but you can pay more for endurance rated sd cards designed for that use case. Endurance SD cards are typically designed for things like dashcams, which constantly read and write.
Congratulations, lady. One of the things that the Steam Deck community love most besides Steam Sales is seeing a customized Steam Deck, just like yours. It's like your gaming device is a reflection of you.

Months later I love my Steamdeck rocking a 1TB SSD Eventually will upgrade & move everything over to a 2TB SSD like you did. Will also upgrade to a 1TB MicroSD for emulation too

Ugreen makes really great chargers and adaptors… but I’m waiting for them to make USB-C/thunderbolt adaptors that are more low profile, and can be used on something like an iPad, without it sticking out much. Just having one attach to the back of the iPad with a small short cable would be fine, because I don’t use mine flat on a surface much anyway.
People do make sure the steam deck works after you unbox it before you pry it open and mess around inside. I know she probably did that without including it in the video but this is a PSA for people who may forget about that step

I have a case on my deck to go with my skin to make it more comfortable to hold, there is a pink version of the case too so I'd imagine it would look nice as well.

Just pulled the trigger on mine, now the anxious waiting game commences.
Pink skin and control stick protectors, ooh! I also like how you provided size comparisons with the Switch and Switch Lite. I also find it interesting how you have your Switch UI language set to Japanese while you set up your Deck in English, though to be fair, I found through a "DiY Dr K" video that the desktop Linux localisation data seem to be missing from current SteamOS releases, so the desktop mode is stuck in English while the gaming mode UI language is tied to Steam UI language settings. A German-speaking KZread user did make a tutorial on how to change the UI language, but it looks like something that would be wiped with SteamOS updates.
