Aesthetically, I think you'd have a super fun time setting up the Plasma side of the steamOS, so you can customize the color scheme of everything. That way whenever I watch these Steamdeck videos in the dark, I will enjoy while also being blinded by the contrast of the theme.

Question: how did you get the drivers for steam deck on dual boot? I found on the steam website that there aren’t any that work with the windows version. Any fixes?

I’m new to this whole console thing so i gotta ask. I want to start playing genshin on another device since my iphone’s storage isn’t holding up. If i wanted to get a portable PC like this one, would genshin be available on the app store or do I have to do something in particular to download it? And what would be the best handhelds for this game for example?

for Steam Deck in particular, since it is running SteamOS which is Linux based, you need to mess around with steam to get Genshin to work, or you need to dual boot Windows like in the video. If you want something that works out of the box to play Genshin, then you pretty much want a handheld that runs windows like the Asus ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go or maybe a handheld that runs Android, like AYN Odin 2

@@AhmadIzzuddinGaming well my reasoning is mihoyo doesn't give sh!t to other platforms except iPad and iPhone.... So Android does not have controller support for genshin impact.... So if you get odin or any other Android handhelds, you have to deal with touchmapping shenanigans....

The regular deck is still OK, plus with it being docked it doesn't really matter if you get the regular or the OLED. Same performance.

Sorry if I'm dumb and missed it,,, but can you link the guide that lets you dual boot steam and windows on the old model..... I have been trying to find one but most are for the lcd version and the sd card drivers haven't been released yet -also are you using a ethernet connection to get by the wifi driver also not being out?

Where did you get OLED wifi, audio and bluetooth drivers for windows?

I heard valve wasn't done with their windows drivers for the OLED steam deck and we should wait before trying it. Nice to see you test it. Is it acceptable for Genshin? Run into any unacceptable problems? Think it's safe for me to dual boot windows on my OLED?

​@@wolfwoof2000You probably shouldn't. Genshin's anti shit doesn't support Linux. The only way to make it work (what lutris does) is bypass the anti cheat which can get you banned.

The only disadvantage is that you can't install other voice packs unless you install it differently because it tells you you have not enough storage space even if it's not true, I'm too lazy to do that myself so I suffer with the eng voices.

@@Cloudyy1.0 well I don’t really have time to go in depth, but basically steamOS is a big part of why the steamdeck is so great. Installing windows will give you access to a few more games and stuff but it sacrifices a lot. You lose a lot of the built in useful tools, the nice console-like user interface, etc. So yea if you wanna install windows and stuff probably get the other windows based “consoles”. Steamdeck still got more battery life but the others are more performant. Though honestly I prefer the steamdeck, but if you put windows on it the others are better pretty much. Overall I would recommend steamdeck if you want a nice comfy experience, and ally and others if you want have windows and also use it had a work pc

Currently saving up for the 512Gb Oled model should be getting it around next year Feb i plan to do upgrages. 2tb ssd ane and some accessories from dbrand. Its going to be long till i get my hands on the steam deck.

The deck comes with a detachable case. Use it. Putting it in the bag without it is not good. That travel bag alone doesn't protect it at all.
