one thing that bothers me with the expanse, is heat management. where are the heat sinks /radiator panels etc etc. if the ship cools itself to microwave background temperatures, then it has to dump heat somewhere... but where? stealth in space can at best be directional by cooling one facing that is pointed towards the enemy and the rest of the ship still has to radiate heat away. radar and visual detection i can get behind. even x ray with crystalstructures scattering it away... but infrared? nope. it will radiate heat somewhere. there is no passive stealth in space. the only posibility is maybe have a HUGE water tank or other material that needs a lot of energy per Kelvin, and then dump the heat into that. but that will only work for a limited duration untill the water heats up and kills the crew. the fact that the entire ship is black doesnt realy help since that just means that more photons are being absobed, so it would have to get rid of EVEN MORE HEAT

It is mentioned in the books that actual stealth ships have massive heatsinks on them. And reaction mass is used to cool the ships when the drive is in use if I recall right. Off-universe reason is that they didn't want to have big radiator panels on the ships so they would look more rockety and less airplaney

Yes: i’m aware the app’s name misunderstands the word it uses, and should be using the word “discourse.” It’s a shame, as it makes us sound ignorant when we use that name. I did NOT mean to imply that *you* didn’t understand the distinction between the two words, as you strike me as quite bright and articulate. My apologies. Sincerely. Would you ever consider doing a video on the RCE Edward Israel from Season 4? It’s a fascinating ship, but outside *Cibola Burn* (the novel) information on it is scarce. Your videos are quite thorough.
