I like how nearly every warm weather stealth camp, Billy says he should have worn trousers. 😅

When in wet weather, don’t collect wood from ground. Look for stuff trapped in trees or dead standing wood. Inside will be much drier.

Bloody legs and rain, for such challenges beer sure does help. In fact one has to wonder if there is any manly problem that beer doesn't factor in as part of the solution. Billy, I wear zip-off legs just fit that reason. Works a treat. I Also carry hexamine for when there is no dry wood.

Hi Billy. Great video. Glad to see you back in action. If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion regarding wood gasifier stoves. I would consider taking some wood fire lighters with you and a few pieces of dry, battoned down wood, with you. You dont have to buy these fire lighters, you can make your own from dryer lint indused with candle wax, or .string wrapped in a babybel shell. Also, it may be worth clearing some of the foliage from around the base. It may be blocking the air flow into /out of the stove.

Hand sanitizer works great for wet wood.

Peel off some tree bark, thats a great accelerant. Especially silver birch as its thin and papery. Sitting under the tarp looked so chill bro, very cool location

I always take a kg of kindling..(just in case)

You can also use a small amount of guy lines..it works quite well.

Make some petroleum jelly and cotton balls to start fires with keep them in a zipper bag. Have fun stay safe.

Maybe wear long trousers for breaching the hawthorn and brambles. Can switch to shorts when youre in. Woodwool balls make great fire starters.

Did you jump into a hawthorn bush entering the roundabout? That must have been painful. The hedge around my house is made of hawthorn. It is painful trimking it, let alone jump in it to enter a roundabout.

Missed a trick not calling this _Getting Wood on a Roundabout_

What about building a house on a roundabout and claim the land under squatters rights

You need to find “dead standing” wood, so trees that are dead and still standing. Anything on the floor will be wet through, especially after rain. You need a better knife with metal that goes right through the handle from the blade, known as “full tang”. Then you can “batton” the dry dead wood from the centre of bigger bits and use as kindling. 😊👍🏕

A small saw to chop the wood into lengths makes it easier to batton too. The “bahco Laplander” is a great mini saw.

So in your last video you said that you should have worn trousers. Why did you not learn from that experience?
