Steak and Shrimp With Calabrian Chili Compound Butter

Steak and shrimp is a classic combo that everyone loves! For a unique spin on this classic dish, Join Eric from Simply Elegant Home Cooking as he demonstrates his method for combining the steak and shrimp with a delicious Calabrian chili compound butter. The compound butter is used both to top the steak as well as to sear the shrimp and infuse a delicious flavor into the dish. It is important to buy a very high quality steak with excellent marbling. Today Eric is using a NY strip steak, but a ribeye or filet would work equally well. Also, be sure not to overcook the shrimp as this is one of the most common mistakes when cooking seafood.
Calabrian chili peppers come from southern Italy and add a sweet, smoky and salty flavor along with a bit of heat. You will be amazed how adding this one ingredient will enhance the dish and add such an amazing flavor. The peppers can be purchased in either a paste form (seen in this video) or whole. Either option will work.

This is a very easy way to use them but they are SUPER versatile! They are definitely one of my top 5 ingredients and I will definitely be using them in more videos to come.
