I love England! My husband and I used to visit twice a year and every other year we spent Christmas there! We would rent self catering cottages. We would stay three weeks at a time. We met and maintained so many wonderful families and friends. My husband died last year, so I won’t be making many trips unless my children and/or grandchildren are interested in coming with me. I would be interested in seeing your house.

How are you doing

I can hardly believe the beauty and history of such a lovely place. It's right out of an old storybook from one's childhood. This type of place must always be protected from destruction and/or change. I don't even want to say "Great Britain," because it's much better described as an ancient little village in England. Every town and city in nearly every country in Europe has changed over the past 50 years from the way they were for hundreds of years -- in my view, not for the better, so I hope this one stays the way it is now - close to how it's been for probably hundreds of years. Some things should be preserved forever.

Thank you for sharing the UK with us Americans. I'm so happy to have found you. I want to visit the UK and Europe so badly, and you're giving me great inspiration.

That’s amazing: you had entire streets to yourself. I’ve never seen a video like this. Exploring in the early morning is definitely the answer to beating the crowds! Castle Combe is my #1 destination to visit in the Cotswalds! I think it is the most beautiful of all the villages (as its title suggests).

I am binge watching your videos, often in tears. I lived in London for 15 years. I am absolutely and utterly home sick.

I'm an inner city guy but I love quaint villages. I have always lived in downtowns, not close to the center but bang in the middle. For my weekends and holidays, however, I love to explore smaller towns too and you are bringing me in the mood for England.

This was beautiful! In March of this year I had the privilege of taking my Mom on her first trip abroad to England (we're from the states) and we made a quick stop in Castle Combe! It is such a quaint and charming little village! Thanks for sharing this.. brought back some really lovely memories :)

Hi Kirsten, Castlecombe is pronounced as if there were a double o instead of one so it would sound like "room" just one of those quirks of the English language, your videos are so peaceful to watch, lovely.

I love the peaceful music at 4.26 and the way you have cut out harsh airplane and tourist noise. It's a few romantic moments of looking at those picturesque buildings. A little escape from responsibilities like home maintenance which must be ongoing in reality in those old buildings. I have looked at this video 5 times. I love it. Thank you Kirsten. It's what holidays should be. Escapism.

I'd love to see renovation vlogs! What a beautiful village. Reading through some of these comments makes me realise how lucky I/we are to live in the UK and be able to visit places like this pretty easily. I'm on the North Yorkshire coast and there are so many beautiful fishing and farming villages round here with quirky cottages and gardens.

I can say from experience that’s it’s a lovely place to live but the tourist can get annoying sometimes so be aware

I’m in Pennsylvania in the US. Visited England and Wales back in college. I dream of returning some day. Thank you for this beautiful, peaceful video. I needed this today. 😃👍

I love seeing your cute skirt and dress wardrobe, Kirsten. That’s what I wear about 95% of the time; everyone else seems to wear jeans every day, which I hate to wear. They’re just not comfortable and never fit me right. I only wear trousers when I must, like when walking in brushy terrain (we have a lot of that here in California), and then, it’s stretchy-waisted ones! No matter how tight or loose, or belted, I wear them, they wriggle down off my skinny hips without elastic. I get sick of walking around using both hands to hold them up! The only good thing about the pandemic is that more comfortable clothes and footwear are a available. Well, and air pollution improved.

Once I got over being jealous I really enjoyed this, another soothing video. I was born in England so I do know how lovely it is. I am now happily settled in Canada which is a different kind of beauty. Love your pink dress, you have good taste. It also shows in the music you choose for these videos.

Just love your videos. They're so magical. I miss England very much so I visit via your videos. And your soundtrack is so evocative. Excellent work. You're my favourite channel now. Thank you 😊

What an adorable cottage. I’m amazed by the size of the kitchen and the fact that it has a bath and a shower. It’s just lovely. Than “No longer in use” sign on the letter box made me a bit sad. I’m a city girl and have lived in London for 8 years before, reluctantly, returning to Switzerland, but my heart is still in England and its beautiful countryside and villages. I wished it could stay so community driven, quaint and idyllic, but I know, time’s-a-changing.

If you get to visit England Jamie try to come in late May - June and enjoy all the greenery and flowers. The picturesque parts of the country are outside London. Hire a car (book ahead for an automatic) and stay in maybe two different centres to get a flavour of the different regions. Take it slow and take advantage of the many public footpaths that wander through the countryside (pick those that include a pub! for a beer and food). Hope you manage to make it here! There are a couple of restored steam railways in my part of the country (Yorkshire) that have nice views.
