Status Quo Live At The Glasgow Apollo (1982)

Ойын-сауық

Tonight for one night only and before Facebook ban us we are streaming one of the best Apollo gigs EVER!
It's beyond us that Quo turned into the Wombles post '84 but this is a recording will blow the cobwebs out of anyones ears - even bitter old punks who seem to be obsessed by boy bands and talking about getting a lumber!
We miss this band very much indeed but we're also so grateful for these recordings.
Enjoy.......STATUS QUO

No one Rocked the Glasgow Apollo like The Quo - I was at this - both nights - they were on fire ! Pete Kircher was a superb replacement for John & a solid drummer. In fact I got their autographs after queuing outside their hotel before the show. 🫡

You lucky guy!! I thought Kircher a great drummer. Let's not forget although his tenure was short he played 3 massive gigs. Charley boy, End of the Road and Live Aid. Live Aid resurrected Quo I think. I wasn't sure in this recording whether John was still with the band as I know he departed during the 1982 album. But he obviously was? To be fair I still follow them and recently also saw Rossi on his tunes and chat tour and he was a lot better than I expected. Still got a good voice.😊🎸🎸

41 years ago! I was 13 years old and Quo at the Birmingham NEC in '82 (the one with prince Charles an televised live) was my first gig. Listening to this brings it all back. Fuck me they were good then! Hard to believe what they turned into. 4500 Times is simply glorious from beginning to end. Thanks SO much for uploading 🙂 Quo Oh Oh Oh Oh!

Thanks for sharing this. Fnatatsic to be able to hear the drone and Caroline and the announcements at the end fo the broadcast. Does anyone know who the Radio Clyde presenter was? Is Radio Clyde a BBC station or an independent one? I though I would add some credits, which I got from listening to the upload. A Radio Clyde broadcast Engineered by Tom Stevenson Rrcorded by Pete Shipton Mixed by Alister Owen Produced by Alan Boyd Not sure who the Radio Clude presenter was.

To answer my own question, the presentwr was most likwly the legend, Tom Russell, who did the Friday Night Rock Show on Radio Clyde. It's not someone I've ever heard, but then I dont live in Scotland or Manchester. The only reason it woulsnt be him is if someone was xoveeing that week but i think it unlikely.
