At last. A concert where I could say I was there!
His last gig I went to, until the 2008 Replicas re-tour.
Still a brilliant live act.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was there WOW! what a concert that was. loud and deafening ..atmosphere was incredible and the best place to be
Dire album and the image quite rightly made fans a target for ridicule. What an absurd look. BTW It's Numan NOT Newman. Clown.
Check out everything from the Fly To The Rainbow album on to this one. The band’s been around for over 57 years and counting so it’s definitely the Ulrich Roth’s guitars you’ve gotta listen to, cuz when Hendrix says that you’re better than him.? It’s time to take notes on how amazingly talented he was with the Scorpions and still is with his own project: Electric Sun ❤ Sincerely, DJP Anal Cunt; Postmortem and Kilslug Sony; Earache 🇬🇧 Columbia and TAANG!! Records @ ALL RIGHTS RESERVED by copyright infringement laws worldwide via Boston Massachusetts Amerikkka quite obvious by this administration; especially about 3 weeks ago..?
ACDC Live Wire is a good start 🇦🇺👍👌😎
Cracking vibe on 'Give My Compliments To The Chef'. Blinding gig, tight as a nut.
Was at the Manchester Apollo gig on the 30th March that year. Fricking awesome, what utter LEGENDS of Rock n' Roll!!!
My dad says the crowd were mental snd he's pretty sure the floor moved 😂
Ma da would tell me about the balcony bouncing up n doon at some gig's he was it.
Geddy Lee even mentioned that scary balcony in his book.
It sure did - it had huge springs that allowed that
@@GlasgowApolloLive I never knew that.
Zal guitar Howell is enough to Heal anyones Faith! It's awsome! Big Thanks for capturing & preserving this concert of Alex & His Sensational Boys. Saw them in 81 & still Sensational. Every Alex fan sadly remembers where they were when they heard the news Alex died. 😢
I want to bring some metal bands to apollo, is this the official channel?
To answer my own question, the presentwr was most likwly the legend, Tom Russell, who did the Friday Night Rock Show on Radio Clyde. It's not someone I've ever heard, but then I dont live in Scotland or Manchester. The only reason it woulsnt be him is if someone was xoveeing that week but i think it unlikely.
thats an insult to the wombles . more like bucks fizz or black lace
Me and a pal broke into the abandoned building up over the wall where they had removed the foyer in !998 to have free roam of the whole building. There was another upper circle with ten rows that looked like it had always been walled off and the seats etc were immaculate, We left with various boxes of unused tickets from the offices and the black drop from the back of the stage as well as many of the spotlights and seating . Saw most of the Heavy Metal bands of the time there and have had tinnitus ever since seeing Thin LIzzy in 1983.
The stage was only 16ft deep as far as I remember.

Greetings from Argentina. I share what they say regarding the subsequent transformation of the group (made in the USA). Over here I'm a fan of 70s British rock (Zepp, Purple, Sabbath, Free, Ufo, Thin Lizzy, Humble Pie, etc.). A cordial hug.- www.youtube.com/@gabrielraulbecerra2350
thank you for this
Played their live lp again just the other day. So good.
Thanks for sharing this. Fnatatsic to be able to hear the drone and Caroline and the announcements at the end fo the broadcast. Does anyone know who the Radio Clyde presenter was? Is Radio Clyde a BBC station or an independent one? I though I would add some credits, which I got from listening to the upload. A Radio Clyde broadcast Engineered by Tom Stevenson Rrcorded by Pete Shipton Mixed by Alister Owen Produced by Alan Boyd Not sure who the Radio Clude presenter was.
You can't play "Backwater" without "Just Take Me"
I bought Neanderthal Man on a 45rpm disc. Rubber Bullets, Wall Street Shuffle, I'm Not in Love, Life Is a Minestrone, Art for Art's Sake, The Things We Do for Love and Dreadlock Holiday. All hits, all of the songs. Just now I discovered they performed Paperback Writer & Across the Universe. Well done, lads.
Is this show audio or video?
It is broadcast on video but works fine as sound only
Biff and the boys sound great. You're not getting tired are you!?
Una de las mejores bandas de todos los tiempos ❤
I saw them a few days earlier in Birmingham! 😃
Slade - моя молодость. Слушаю и сейчас. Уже на пенсии.
I was at the gig. If my memory serves me right, the Mama's Boys were the support band.
White Snake. Puppet Show. Spinal Pap.
Saw them in Edinburgh the night after this gig. Still one of the best ever live gigs I can remember. They all played a blinder!
Jon Lord was never a SIr, although he should have been.
Was only ever at the Apollo 3 times and this was one of them. Somewhere, I also have a cassette of the radio broadcast of this from Tom Russell's Rock Show.
This is that very recording from Tom’s show
I was at this show. Dio was a class act.
Saw them live at Sheffield City Hall in 1984, same tour🤟
Thank you! HNY!
An island among the punk ocean...😂😂😂
1978- punk had just about died by then.
Ah , Bernie Mars Bar ...
I have seen both in there prime quo were better slade drifted out of the big time sales completely drop which i don’t think they deserved
Best band on earth that night. Even Sykes sounds like an rookie compared to the double axmaster attack on that stage, and well, 2 words, JOHN LORD
Lord

The best Whitesnake, period.
At the best venue
Memories. Back in those days no one new WS in Canada but I was pushing them on all my friends. 6 years later I was justified.
