Stationeers survival - VENUS playthrough on hard, E1: Setting up camp fumblingly

Ойындар

This will probably fail. Venus is HARD, man! Tried it before, didn't get far.
But at the end of this episode, we've got a promising camp and a good amount of coal. Lungs already damaged, Pill not yet used. I'm not optimistic, but we may have a chance. Or this will be a very short series.
*** denotes important stuff.

0:32:36 - Homecoming, smelting, cabling, batterying
0:35:40 - Even more mining
0:37:38 - Making the Hydraulic Pipe Bender ... and mining
0:40:18 - Homecoming, HPB almost done, battery almost empty

0:53:32 - Indoor room done, now pipe/cable it up

i can't comprehend how you do so much video in a row.

Speaking of comprehension: In case you can't do IC10 MIPS assembly programming yet - I just made a new video (2h) which explains that from scratch (incl. me making a base first with video often paused, hehe) with good examples. If you can't do MIPS after that, you haven't watched the video :D Video is still uploading, 17 GB. Should be up tomorrow.

I'm at the beginning of the video, but regarding pumping oxygen to waste tank speed to try to cool you down you have two options: max out your internal pressure and turn your filtration off, it will slows oxygen to waste tank flow and cut it to somewhat 15-20%, flow i mean. eventually extends your oxygen tank life time five times longer approximately. but you always need to be ready to turn filtration on for a couple of seconds after suit low oxygen warning. then turn off again until next warning. or you could decrease your suit target pressure to a minimum, around 30+kpa. it will give you less oxy tank life time then first option but you don't need to be on constant alert to fiddle filters on and off. sorry for almost (i hope almost) unreadable comment, my mother's tongue isn't English. Nice video, please keep em coming.

Thanks! I had heard of this air-off-and-temporarily-on trick (Not the high pressure part though.) - and that it can be implemented via a chip in the slot (though once you're that far, there is no *need*, it's just nice to have). But I never strived to do so because I try to live with the pretend reality supplied by the game, and this would IMHO abuse the limits of the simulation. Decreasing the target pressure, however, is something I'm willing to try. Hopefully I won't forget it xD Your comment is fine. ... Particularly the ending :D

Got some ideas for my next venus attempt from your video. Did my first playthrough attempt on venus earlier this week since the AC nerf and its rough. Got a bit demotivated but going to give it another go.

Appreciated. - I don't know why exactly, but while I of course want to do Venus eventually (Never did a successful run on it ever.), I kinda end up doing all other stuff *except* this, partly because somehow it actually feels menacing to me, I guess. It's kinda like I don't dare doing it, or it would feel like wasted time because it's not gonna work anyway, or something, I can't explain it. Obviously I should just *try*. ... Hopefully won't forget doing it.

@@OwnerOfTheCosmosVenus start is just painfull and the challenge after that initial start is a big part of the fun. The lack of good information since alot of the changes like the AC nerf and phase change makes it less enjoyable in ny opinion. Hope you do continue with episode 2 tho.

You don´t have to wait so long to evacuate the room. Let the outside Pipe explode...

Does it though? I think I tested this weeks ago, and it doesn't happen. Temperature too high for [enough] liquid to build up. Or does this *actually* work?

@@OwnerOfTheCosmos you pump from vent into (at least) 2 pipes until the pipes are overpressured already and making the funny noises (takes only a couple of seconds if you are pumping from the open atmosphere with an active vent), then you REMOVE the pipe in between, so all the gas ends up in the pipe that is isolated and it takes damage and explodes edit: no liquid required, it can work with just gas

@@zaftnotameniSTUPID me, I even knew that, but I never intentionally used it like this. ------ Thanks! EDIT: Though arguably, that's cheating. That pipes nicely keep their content when you deconstruct them is gamification, convenience, balancing. Using these features to break through a progression wall seems questionable.

@@OwnerOfTheCosmos I mean... if we are talking about some degree of realism... uncapping a pipe seems like easier than having a pipe magically capped honestly I think the ""correct"" solution would be for cowls to be a mouse wheel option for normal pipes (or at least a really crappy/slow version of them) EDIT: and _actually_ it would work even without the magical reshuffle of contents when you delete a pipe, if you pump enough to overpressure _both_ pipes, one would break (maybe at random?)

@@zaftnotameniI had experimented with liquid pipes in my Europa playthrough series: I had removed the middle pipe. The total amount of substances stayed the same, but it was spread out evenly into both sides. (I don't recall if the pipe was somehow exactly the middle pipe.) And it was of course two pipe networks then. Placing the pipe in that location again collapsed the two into one, and the substances were will all there. In other words: Taking any pipe way will increase the load on the remaining ones, so strategic deconstruction is easily possible.
