You can make a rapid decay room by having a room filled with 100C+ pure pollutant, then use a hopper and a sorter to cycle items in that room, kicking out anything that's not raw food that can be decayed. The pollutant alone increases the decay rate to 3x, and I can't seem to find the source I got the 100C number from, but increased temperature increases the decay rate. This is if you need to get decayed food faster. The only useless part of the shower automation was turning it on automatically. If you remove that feature, the rest of it is completely useful. A light that tells you when your shower isn't operational and an auto-boiler? Yes please.

In the spirit of useless automation, I suggest making a "jump pad" to get to the roof. i.e. a pressured tank with a release valve that you can stand on top and push out a burst of gas as a means of vertical transport onto the roof. Jetpack? Doesn't even refill itself. Ladder? Exerting physical effort- don't be ridiculous.

I still laugh everytime I see the floating equipment (due to render distance). You'd think it would be less obvious by now ;)

there is a mod to increase the render distance to 600 in avance graphic setting. help a lot to find the base when you come back from a mining run.

The shower coding was very usefull. Who's got time to open a valve when you want to take a shower? On a life time thats alot of time you can spend doing important things 😉 Can't wait for the next part on the cryogenics plant, for some reason my attempts always end up in fireworks so might get some ideas from you. On another note, have you had the time to look at the sorters since the update today? Also pipe insulation and insulated inline tanks 😮😊

The sorters look tricky but useful.

Wireless power transmitters and receivers, the microwave kind. There are no birds on Mars so they should be safe.

you can pump daytime martian air through a series of 5 pipe/back pressure regulator segments each with a passive condenser teeing off to a liquid pipe network, with the BPR's set to 4MPa you end up with liquid pollutant in your liquid pipe network which will evaporate again while the pressure in that network is below 4MPa, it ends up about -78 or something, which is getting you close. No phase change device required.

CO2 will condense out at with the pollutant at night time temps, it'll freeze up the pipes

Only a tiny amount of pollutant in the atmosphere. Not enough for an open cycle AC but i do already have the liquid CO2 from the breathing air collector. I could use that as the first stage of the cooler.

I wonder if i'll save money on my water bill if i carbonate my shower water

Mick - I had a thought on your H2 Combustor and the amount of water it is making. Do you think the unit would be less efficient if the gases going into it are not pure H2 and O2?

I believe the impurities just go straight through and get ignored. It should be hotter if I had pure gas.

What about automating the shower doors 🙂. This episode hurt my head. Quite complex. Pretty sure you're some sort of engineers IRL

Wheat turned into flour and soybeans turned into oil doesn't decay. You can stockpile both and only turn it into bread when needed. Potato decay can be slowed but not stopped. It's basically the canned food option of T4 foods that can be made on demand.

@@inneedofmedication ur right flour and oil can’t decay, what I’m saying is for ur first T4 fries r easier. Most likely you will have the potatoes on hand. As well if they are in an oven they won’t decay. So finish off you potatoes while your waiting on ur wheat to grow. And bread seems to last long too
