Gymnastics training or calisthenics is not only about getting strong, healthy and shredded with the “classic” exercises like push ups, pull ups or muscle ups, but learning spectacular skills like the planche, human flag or front lever.
This is one of the specialties of this type of training, that you can get all the benefits from working out, while learning spectacular skills and enjoy the process even more!
Learning new skills can be an extra motivating factor as well.
Many people start calisthenics or street workout for that particular reason, or because they not only want to get a better physique but want to learn dope skills and tricks.
However, not too many people talk about how to start this process.
Of course, there are beginner progressions for the advanced exercises I mentioned but you definitely need a basic strength to be able to start those.
But what is that basic level? When should you start learning these static skills? What is the right order of the exercises?
Join Adam, and you’ll get the answers in this video!

You can do in one session (this is what I did when I trained 3 times a week) or you can do every other session for skills.

Hi Adam, I am a 14 year old and I want to get started with calisthenics. I know you have a subscription based thing online that gives workouts and other stuff, but I don’t have the resources to pay for that. Would it be possible to just get a few workouts to start, such as a list of some exercises that I should do per day, for example: Monday is push-ups, pull-ups, etc. Tuesday is something else. Just wondering, Thanks!

What worked for me is picking 1 or 2 skills you want to learn within a couple months and just train for those, then pick a couple favorite exercises and start a basic PPL split, mine is push pull legs push pull legs rest, but you can switch it up if you want, the most basic push exercise is push-ups, pull is rows or pull-ups, and legs and abs are squats, hollow body holds, L sit progressions and hanging knee raises, it’s the journey not the destination, what works for others might not work for you, hope you get stronger buddy!
