I've been excited and hyping up Voidweaver ever since Blizz dropped the names of the hero talent trees. And every time I looked at it and looked at updates I was pretty happy with it. The only thing I really wish they had done was made this hero tree more focused around Void Eruption. I'm so tired of Dark Ascension playstyle, and I really think Voidweaver with a 30s "miniburst' and 90-120s "main burst" would have been really fun to play rotationally. I can't wait to play Shadow in a raid and tell my raid team I'm a melee main now :D

would love to see something like void blast summoning two apparitions instead of one to allow more talent diversity.

Can I still run void form and mind flay with voidweaver or is it really bad because I love how VF feels and it feels really cool thematically

5:25 it's also weird to me that Void Eruption will refill your Mind Blast charges, while Dark Ascension will not. You can easily get 4 void blast out if you torrent, blast, blast, eruption, and then get 2 more. Can't do that with DA though, which is even supposed to be the one going harder into direct damage vs. DoT damage. From a balance perspective it probably makes sense, but it feels unintuitive somehow.

I really appreciate the work you put into Shadow Priest and agree with pretty much everything you said. I am also really sad to see that Void Eruption has no interaction with Voidweavers Kit. I hope that they listen to feedback and make improvements where they can, and I hope they see this video!

10:00 the best answer to solve it is to delete mind spike from the game

I enjoyed the vid! Super fun visuals and great hero talent nodes. Blizzard hasn't made good on their promise to rework dark ascension into a real ability and I don't have MOP/Cata nostalgia for the mind spike/shadow orb days so I don't want to ditch an iconic ability like mind flay. With mind spike, shadow is just too similar to balance druid - it has two main dots like moonfire and sunfire, a 1.5s casted filler like wrath and an instant cast spender (devouring plague is basically starsurge). The channeled filler and 1.5s cast of mind blast on a cooldown has made shadow feel unique since vanilla. So I'll probably just play this in lower keys and heroic raid with mind flay/void eruption despite it being suboptimal dmg. Hope DA gets fixed or removed!

All the things I dislike are good with this hero tree? meh. (Mind Spike, Dark Ascension and Inescapable Torment)

I looked at your list of bugs. I think the one about Entropic Rift being buffed by Dark Ascension is the way it needs to be. Otherwise there would be a large discrepancy between playing Dark Ascension vs Void Eruption since Voidform increases AoE damge indirectly via the Shadow Priest's mastery effect (i.e., all targets receive damage as if they have all DoTs active). Also, in my testing Shadow Word: Death isn't doing extra damage to targets lower than 20%. You could try confirming that and add it to your list if you agree.

Yeah it’s just odd because the rift is definitely flagged as periodic damage so it’s quite confusing when effects like dark evang don’t buff it. And yeah the death bugs started yesterday I haven’t gotten time to add them yet but plan on getting to it after the weekend

The new ability seems amazing. In WoW lore, shadow is given a the nickname void. Idk if that’s a valid nitpick.

plz dun make it so that we have to run dark ascension, VE looks and feel so much better IMO

@@mattwc93 exactly ngl i kinda wish we had the old void form where it activates at 100 insanity and you have insanity spenders to reduce insanity so it only reaches 100 at times. its more fitting for the thematic of the void and "going insane"

I know it's still early, but how are the meters looking for voidweaver? I've always been a Spriest, but have recently been thinking about swapping to Lock. VW def looks really dope.

I love the look of shadow but never played it. my guild says its a super hard dps class to learn.. it looks pretty complicated do you think its not worth doing if your a noob?

what shadow really needs is a On-Death dot transfer, so many times your SC just trolls you and hits some random bozo mobs and none of the big boys xD

I get excited when I hear the intro music.

Quick thought on voidweaver incentivizing mind spike too much over mind flay: if they switched the talent location of mind spike and mind melt, and made mind flay ticks pump up the crit chance of mind blast if you took mind melt, it might give people more choice.

@@Publikwow I hate mind spike - too generic, too similar to wrath, fireball, frostbolt, shadow bolt, etc., but those who long for the shadow orb era find it nostalgic so I hate to keep it away from them.

They also fixed a bug so each cast of Devouring Plague increases its damage by 20%. So in the end it works out :)

I really don't get it. My favorite part about spriest is voidform and the shadow boys. Why the hell does it seem like blizzard is trying to push me to play another spec. Why cant voidform get any love? I loved trying to push to maintain my VF as long as possible. Why can't i summon an army of shadow boys to blitzkrieg my target? Where are those talents? I hate DA. I hate mind spike. How hard is this to nail for bliz? At this rate it's archon for me... Thanks for the breakdowns Publik.

The rift doesnt move that quickly in PvP so blink/etc can really counter it. But we'll see!

Just make the left side for dots the middle for spirits and the right for hard casts Dots = always do some aoe and some single target Spirits = do more aoe damage and less for single target Hard casts = always the best for single target Oh wow looks like we have a tree where we need to balance between aoe and single target damage mhm was really hard :) And no one knows why voidweaver isnt working over voidform use and instead torrent And the same for archon where it should be dark ascension and not halo ffs who cares about halo????

Why are they nerfing voidweaver every single week. Check the new beta build last night and once again they nerfed it. Go look at the raid logs, it's not like spriest is doing crazy dmg. So I don't understand why the weekly nerfs.

Voidweaver looking reeeal sweet, thanks for keeping us posted. I really hope that Void Eruption stays out of the picture for at least one patch, given how it was mandatory in M+ every single time before. Also with how much SP already has on their plates rotationally, I would prefer it to be tailored towards Raid generally.
