The funniest thing about the AI images is that Mandalore mentioned in a community post that the devs changed out all the AI stuff, iirc, a _day_ after the review.

Mandalore told about his working process on a podcast/interview, I don’t remember which one, how he manages to make reviews quite quickly. He said that he generally doesn’t write scripts like Sseth or other witty essay writers, which may take a month or even a year. Mandy just makes notes of what stick out to him and a general outline of following topics(graphics, music, gameplay, story, etc.), after which he records a semi improvised version, edits it and sticks game footage. Probably, another reason why he’s reviews are so popular is because they feel like “a friend just tells you about a game”. P.S. He also told how he shared this with one of his youtuber friends, Shammy, who does video-game essay reviews with aforementioned “witty writing style”, he couldn’t believe that Mandalore doesn’t write scripts and it legitimately got mad.

Holy damn, that's an interesting process of creating videos, it does explain their style of like you mentioned “a friend telling you about a game”

I feel like thats what makes his videos also feel that much more genuine. It reminds me of this small channel I watch, PakPak, that has a similar feel to it which makes it so fun to watch.

Going from Bone Totem to Ring is one of the worst, or maybe _best,_ forms of wiplash I can conceive of. Good luck.

Stasis was a rough but fascinating experience, but in my opinion, there is a special feeling in watching a studio make a new entry, and its pretty much an improvement over their previous work in every way. To watch their development and progress, leaves me excited to see their next work, and hope they get success. Whereas Stasis is a "maybe" recommend level to friends, Bone Totem is an "absolute" recommend for how much better it is. That and it shows a rather unique horror setting, which I am glad for (it gets tiring seeing horror stories set in the US or Japanese suburbs or city, give me some new places to see, damn it, even if they're a bit far fetched). Hands down, Stasis: Bone Totem is one of the best horror games of 2023. A story set in a gross, horrific world, with some of the most upsetting things I've seen in years, with one of the most touching stories of finding hope I've seen in a while, with the best (and rather terrifying looking) teddy bear characters in fiction. One thing I do find funny about Calaban and Moses is that, I imagined Moses is like VEGA from Doom 4 and Eternal, and Calaban is like Durandal from Marathon, so it feels like I'm watching one hell of a crossover. Addendum: Mandalore's videos are some of my favorite stuff on KZread. I also listen to his stuff when I'm working. He has such a good voice.

It is a huge problem with, especially, western written stories for the last 10-15 years. No matter the setting, character all act, talk and make decisions like they are modern day pumpkin latte drinking californians. And having story and characters that DOESNT do that is of a huge note.
