SovietWomble has a deep dive into the story of Forest 1 and it's absolutely wild for all the wrong reasons. An easy recommend.

The sequel is also doing the early access thing - people were annoyed (well, my friends and I were annoyed, and I just assume other people were too) because they sort of implied it would be a full release, but progress has apparently been steady. It might be worth looking into it next year sometime. I still remember the first Sons of the Fortest trailer - it was one of my favourite trailers at the game awards that year. I can only hope the full game lives up to it when I eventually get around to it.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing something about that when the sequel came out but I did not have the context I now have. That's A LITTLE shady. Hopefully the second game dosen't get left in the dust like that.

I will mention SovietWomble for your future reactions for 2 reasons: 1) He has a deep dive almost 4 hours long into The Forest. IMO, his best work. But, react to it only if you are ready to take that kind of a plunge. He also has a few other video essays that are so high quality that there is a subset of his fanbase waiting exclusively on the essays. 2) Most of his videos are not essays, but rather bullshitteries. Basically, him and his friends being funny. I would recommend those first. If you want advice on where to start and what to watch out for, I will be happy to reply. SovietWomble was usually where old school reaction channels like yours started back in the day, before Sseth and Bricky took that title (Mandalore is not a popular reaction choice at the moment). His content is well worth your time, and easily digestible if you're even remotely familiar with the game he is playing.
