Join me as I costume 40+ performers for a production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella Youth Edition! Some of the sewing projects were easy, some were definitely more advanced. I made children's costumes all the way up to plus size historical costumes and everything in between! I utilized thrifted clothes and did a lot of thrift flipping as well as making use of my stash for an ultimate fabric stash busting extravaganza! You did a fantastic job! I have also costumes for Cinderella and understand the massive amount of costumes that go into it. I was a senior in college, head theater costumer, and very unexperienced. Thankfully a university staff member knew me and my assistant would not be able to handle such a large production on our own and stepped in as lead for that production. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun.

Thank you! Yeah, this was my first show on this scale. It was definitely overwhelming! The last show I did costumes for only had 12 cast members and that felt like a lot at the time. 😆

Fantastic job!! And definitely don’t feel bad about using fast fashion ball gowns. You kept them out of the landfill and they will be reused multiple times. Better that than being used once and tossed away.

this was fun watching, i look forward to that video on cinderella's costume. I just loved how everything was thrifted or built from a fabric stash. If I had a fave I'd have to say it was the stepmother's ball gown.

Alas, no. 😆 I got a huge amount of fabric that belonged to my late mother-in-law a few years ago so there is still a lot left!
