0:48 Oh boy how I laughed😂😂 In the Russian version we have "zroni" with "z" sound (not "zh"), and "zhroni" sounds for us as "those who devour" (from a verb "zhrat' " ) - and this is what the chosen civic makes, no consumer goods but increased food upkeep. Zhroni for sure 😂Sorry for long explanation, but it's really funny

What I don't understand is, why the modmaker didn't use the situation modifiers for the monthly gain/loss of situation progress. Instead he used extra events to increase and reduce it by X. Isn't this not just extra work?

Mod creator here: Situations automatically advance into one direction (if numbers are set). The situation of this Zroni origin is arranged to move only(!) if the player uses its power - otherwise never. This not only gives the player bigger freedom and an own gameplan how to use the available time/limit, but also makes the entire mechanic work in the first place. In theory, the situation is only a graphical way to show the progress of the power abuse by the player - so no extra UI or similar is required (and its much easier to do). Also: The approaches for situations do not support that many options to design them - example the edict for leader exp or creating the Voidangel ship type out of a pop.

@@Exakan Thanks for the reply. But can't you not just add multiple modifiers that either add or subtract progress? For example you lose 5 progress every year, but instead you could just add a natural decay of 0.4 per month. From my rather limited experience I would have also thought that you could just add a modifier thats only active if the owner has the edict active (something like owner={has_edict or has_modifer}). Obviously the rest is event based. Because many things, like building the ship, are one time things. (Maybe its possible to add a scaling modifer that counts the amount of special ships you have. But than you would have to overhaul the entire thing, because it would require massive rebalancing.)

@@Grothgerek Hello! Yes you are right, but the approach system is not that nice to work with (in this specific case/origin). Like I said, the bar does not move without actions of the player - so working with them is useless. Example: Creating Voidangels is a static number instead of monthly approach, I could not add this in an efficient way that wouldnt end in a micro hell. The pop decision (capital) is also a static number. The worst part is actually updating numbers for the situation (which goes up to 250 points, not 100) each time I change something + I plan additions to this origin (crisis path, +1 Shroud related feature). Doing all this with the event/effect base I added for this origin is easier + it is easier to change & add features. The situation itself is just my way to show the numbers to the player to avoid any UI modding - I want a high compatibility for my mods.
Please Ep3O play the Stellaris Evolved mod, it adds so much extra stuff and is amazing. Extra civics, more traditions, new government types, new gestalt types that have different specialities and so much more

Dude the intro to this video actually made me put down my drink come over to my phone and type this out. I can't believe this this is the most crackhead origin I've ever heard of in my life. You have a 0 start with a relic world and you're running a civic that has no consumer goods up. Keep are you like this makes no sense? This is the most hilarious start. I've ever heard of you might as well. Just spawn yourself with the old ancient fleet that palpatine had in that stupid Star Wars movie.

Mod creator here: The civic has an obvious downside - more food and taking a civic slot which could be used for other important stuff. Personally I would not always take that civic. About the origin - its not that powerful. Most of his economy got carried by the broken vasall system, like in every game he uploads. And.. its not a real Relic world, its a custom planet - thus it can not be turned into an Ecu.

@@Exakan the one takeaway is that vassals break everything. You can have an economy 4-5x better than any of your opponents by just having a better fleet and subjugating neighbors. It snowballs. Every origin is good when you do that!
