We're Ruth and Thomas.. and not-yet named baby! We're traveling the world for 3 months and inviting you to follow along on our journey - after that, we have no idea where the winds will take us! We're filming every step of the way and creating our own little international travel vlog to help us remember our adventures and some day embarrass our children with them. :)
This video's adventure starts in Springfield, IL and brings us to San Jose, Costa Rica -- where we were faced with our first obstacle - GETTING STUCK IN CUSTOMS. Almost 3 hours later, we finally made it out and were introduced to... paradise!

We met in our freshmen dorm, fell in love training for a marathon 🏃🏻♀️ 🏃🏽, relocated to Texas to work at high adventure camp, got married, relocated to Honest Abe's hometown, & then decided to start a KZread channel about unique date ideas with the ultimate goal of traveling internationally. We eventually sold our house to pursue travel, whennn we found out we were pregnant! Now we're traveling for 3 months before we head back home to start our next chapter. Crazy how things change so fast. We felt we just saw you guys! Great idea of getting the couple adventures before it becomes family adventures! Welcome to our area of Chicago. Next time you are in the area, let us know! Landing always scared me. Holy line batman! It’s like a Disney line. So excited to see this series. Such a nice place where you stayed.

Yeah, don't recommend. Do not recommend! LOL... How was the Amtrak in terms of COVID safety? We decided against taking one to DC a few weeks ago...a lot more populous, probably, than the one you had. One of the best interviews I've ever seen, R&T! Bless Thomas' kidneys. That is a SPECTACULAR AirBnB. And the fact the guy waited for you...that...is...friendliness and hospitality. WOW.

The Amtrak we took was awesome! Only like half full, so plenty of room to space out. Also with it being a train you just naturally have way more space than a plane, so we felt totally comfortable. We’re big train fans!!!

We are definitely going to make a video about what we packed!! I thought maybe we would do it a month into our travels so we'd have a better idea of things we've actually used/needed versus what we didn't. And yeah! I got to go on a cruise to the Bahamas with Thomas' mom & sisters!!! I didn't make a video or anything about that, but we literally got home the night before we left for Costa Rica. It was cray. 😂
@Ruth and Thomas, amazing looking forward to the videos! Yikes that immigration line! Just wondering have ya'll been asked for proof of vaccine when going into restaurants, hotels, activities yet? Really want to visit San Jose in April but unsure whether there is the vaccine mandate for establishments. Appreciate any feedback and have a wonderful time!

Thanks so much for watching! No, in Costa Rica we did not have to have proof of vaccination to get into any establishments. We just had to wear masks indoors!
How bad was it with mosquitoes? I’m really scared of the Zika virus.
