In this AAA-class of Singleplayer story games there are really just like ~20 games overall in my eyes. Red Dead Redemption 1+2, Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 + Phantom Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 2/3/4, The Witcher 3 + DLCs, The Last of Us Part 1+2, Uncharted - Legacy of Thieves Edition, Ghost of Tsushima, Detroit: Become Human, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, God of War, Days Gone, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, BioShock: Infinite, Mafia 2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Beyond: Two Souls, Alan Wake 2. Of course there are easily 100 S-Tier experiences when it comes to gaming... all the FromSoftware games alone (Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Dark Souls series) belong to the best games ever made - and then Skyrim, Fallout 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Metro: Exodus, Hitman 1-3, the Dead Space series, the GTA series, Borderlands 2+3 etc. etc. - there are so many insane games, but there are def. not many that can get you with a similar intense story compared to the RDR games or Cyberpunk or The Last of Us... it's like playing a movie and a RPG at the same time. And that's more important to me than maybe a bad start with bugs. Storygaming is underrated.

Rockstar has just matured with its longtime fans. As you grow older, you approach everything more calmly and slow down the pace. This is also reflected in RDR2. Its crazy how some people love movies and books but don’t like video games. RDR2 is basically a very well written story and you are the main character in this movie. Thumbs up for RDR 3!

Yes! 100% agree, it's like half the movie you write yourself depending on what you do and where you go first the game just helps you along into the next chapters, I don't even think if they turned it into an actual movie that it would do it any justice, nothing compares to the actual game play and story itself 😭

@Indhex "If narrative is what in then games aren't a great option" Dude, what? There are more narrative games available than anyone could ever have the time to play, and more coming out so frequently that you could never run out. Sure, many games don't have a focus on story, but many movies don't either. Games, like any other form of art, vary wildly in how they present whatever it is they want to convey. Almost all I play is story driven games, and I'm still regularly finding more. Not only that, but the medium is unique in that it is able to present beautiful, complex stories with no dialog amd entirely through gameplay. Classic examples would be things like Ico or Journey. The only people who think games aren't telling incredible stories regularly (or not even capable of doing so) simply don't play games. Either that, or they're playing the same AAA copy-paste FPS and sports games 99% of the time. Branch out a little, you'll quickly see just how wrong you are.

I played the game very slowly. I acted like I was really in the game. Not rushing everything. Had to experience every thing in one spot before moving on to the next. I am very glad to have played this for more than 400 hours before finally deciding to finish the main story. What a masterpiece of a game. If there was only a way to forget everything and experience it all over again for the first time.
