LYRICS
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars
Hear me from the bottom
Forged in regret, I'm the silversmith
Doomsday, you had it coming
Marching the streets with an iron fist
Obey no more in silence
The steel in our hearts will be monuments
Today they'll hear the violence
We'll rise from the dark like Lazarus
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars
The ending won't be forgotten
It's written in the stars
And the hieroglyphs
Sending the lionhearted
The stones break bones
But we're venomous
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars
Calling, calling
We've come out to play
Show me show me
A new way, oh
Slowly, slowly
They've led you astray
Away we go, now
Into the fray
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We're motivated by the scars
That we're made of
These trials make us who we are, who we are we are
We take our places in the dark
And turn our hearts to the stars

Trials: the beginning of the revolution Trials reimagined: middle of the revolution, everyone's tried and hardened from the battles, but yet there's still the flicker of hope to power them through.
Amazing. The original version is a piece of rebellion, a single voice screaming out. This version is a song of what was solitude but ends in unity. The chorus with the last... well chorus was incredible and blew me away.

Dude, Starset came in a really dark moment of my life, when I started listening to the songs and realizing the lessons they are trying to teach us with the lyrics, it's like they gave another purpose for me to keep goin' on, to question things, to always have in mind that when we love, we tend to hate too, that we can't give up and always stand up for ourselves... They also teach us that technology is a double edged sword, and to be wary of who holds too much power. Absolute power corrupts, absolutely.
The original Trials feels like you are charging through the streets of the capital city of a dictatorship leading a victorious coup. The reimagined Trials feels like you are sobbing in your shackles in the basement after being imprisoned by corrupt leaders but your cries inspire the other inmates to break out and fight back. I love it either way.

I am, just, speechless. I cannot express words for how this makes me feel. It gave me chills. I love how in the beginning there was several different doorways you could have gone through, and the more you go through them the less there are. Until there is only one doorway you can go through. They even make us think we're going to go through one then we don't. I think this is like a symbolism on how everyone's journeys are different, everyone's choices had lead them to where they are now. Like the song itself says. I love it. Another interpretation that might not be as accurate. But I feel the man that the girl shined the light over had his memories removed, which caused him to loose some of himself. Walk back behind some doors. It's so sweet

What's in the last door? It's beauty. Beauty in the eye of the beholder
2:01 I need that voice injected into my veins
I'm imagining a man looking at a city; a city that once had great power, now in ruins. He looks on in the distance, singing a song to himself that seems like it was from centuries before; yet was from recent times. The man is on the brink of losing his hope, and on the verge of tears; as the memories of what happened here and everything around him is too much to bear. Then, these other people that share the same cause as him, come from behind him; singing along with him. The man gains a glimmer of hope that he never expected; enough for him to realize that just maybe, he wasn't fighting for the end of this monstrosity of a present-future himself. He smiles a bit, beginning to sing louder with the group of strangers at his side; tears of joy, not sadness, spilling from his eyes. A song once used as propaganda to persuade him and millions of others that everything was going to be okay, was now being used to create a rebellion... _And the revolution began._

The transitions to different locations and then to space are amazing!!!
So beautiful. It's like all the many possibilities can open, up until you wish to head back, and change your life. Soon, you see what life is, and you accept it as what it should be: Life is a reflection.
First minute I was like, oh this is just acoustic. Until 1:30. Then I was rocking out. Starset truly is amazing.
The Starset Society has outdone themselves once more. After nearly a year, this is still perhaps their best work.
This gives my soul a feeling of joy, calm and power that I didn't know could be achieved with just a song, but of course it is not just one song, it's a Starset song. they perfect perfection itself. I want to cry just for joy. I feel we can all march together as a unique being, leaded by Starset and powerd by our trials. It feels like we are unstoppable. *they really turned our hearts to the stars*
This looks, feels and sounds like it should in its own film 😮 ... Right in the feels everytime.
Literally the best song of all time! COMPLETE goosebumps @4:21
Was NOT expecting both video that amazing from Starset and my city getting shown at 03:00 like holy moly
This is pure ART. Goosebumps.
You never tire of being so talented, I love you beautiful
"Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder"
How much epicity do you want for this video? Starset: YES
The original "TRIALS" is amazing theres no way to make it better STARSET: "bet"
Esto es muy hermoso. Me impulsa a seguir avanzando. Me pareció ver la Estación Espacial Internacional 💞
This is currently my favorite Starset song. It has a great instrumental base, amazing backing vocals who make Dustin's voice shine even more, and Dustin's vocals are so emotional. Currently using this as an anxiety relief. Thanks for existing and creating this masterpiece, guys ❤️
STARSET Super Talented Awesome Raw Special Enchanting Thrilling

This band has grown so much over the last few years... from the music getting better and better.. from the live shows growing.. the production getting insane. This reimagine song was straight 🔥
2020 has really blown me away from how good the music is! Starset, Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, RED, Evanescence, all amazing!
0:52 THIS PART I love this part!!
I call this "instant goosebumps" (especially at 1:30). Damn.
Dayumn! That dropped harder than a lead ball. There's something to be said about this version being much more orchestral and soulful than the original.
I heard this last night and was left speechless and my jaw dropped. I was not expecting anything like that.
Just started listening to starset more actively and i just realize how much ive been missing out on, love this so much
When the coronavirus has passed on, Starset should do a Live at the Royal Albert Hall with an orchestra 🙌🤤

Absolutely!! My scars made me who I am, and every day I’m motivated to go beyond
Absolutely the most breathtakingly beautiful music video I've ever seen.
