I wouldn't mind seeing all the large habs e.g 2x3 etc compared between the couple of manufacturers. Maybe even just showcase the large unique habs from each manufacturer. You'd have to go to the each particular showroom to buy them.

It's interesting to note that Nova Workshop and Science Lab also add two passenger slots each, so with just those two you'd have all stations and four passenger slots.
@delindsay

Keep in mind that Passenger slots aren't the same as Crew Stations. Crew Stations are the only thing the Ship counts for having actual Crew for passive bonuses.

I use these habs on my warship and it can cruise up to 8 ride alongs - and once you discover all the locations you can use your nav console to fast travel directly to the transport mission destination. And there's usually a mission board there where you can get another transport mission. It's like printing credits and xp, dont even need weapons just ma out your grav drive and go find all the outposts in the galaxy as the #1 starbus.

Thank you for the walkthrough comparisons ✨It is stressful and confusion trying to do it in game. Much more enjoyable to sit and watch a walk through, and only slightly annoying when I try to remember the specifics the next day. But it is quite conducive to jump to the time stamp in your vids of whatever Hab I am considering as an aid while building 👍 In case you do any more, the "North/South connecting Hab + Companionway + Same Hab" layout will really show everything that is in the Hab with "no" doors / ladders. I wish the game had a "door / ladder preference" toggle on each connection, where you select that point as something you'd rather avoid connecting if possible, or something you'd rather connect.

As long as you enjoy the look of the Ships you build, that's all that matters.
Thanks for all these “open house” walkthroughs. I’ve finally begun my shipbuilding and it’s a lot to figure out and this helps a bunch. I’ve only been struggling with trying to figure out which side of a room will provide an entryway when I link it to different habs, bays, etc. If there’s an easy way to explain how to predict those doorways and which way it decides to link without trial and error, that would be amazing but for now I can take the info you provide, with what furniture you may lose, and go from there.
I'm all for nova and tayo together. I just realise that nova has so many research equipment and most modules can carry 2 passengers.
I love these videos. Thanks for them. They are extremely helpful. I hate how you can't hit a button to go inside to see what it looks like while building or why you can't just build from the inside. Also you don't need the power boost pack to get up without using the ladders. It's probably easier with it but I've gotten up with the basic, balanced and skip. The skip is the hardest bc you have to hit it twice. It's not actuality hard. It's just harder. The balanced pack actually gives you the most height. It doesn't with one press of the button but overall it gives the most.

I think we ALL agree on that one, not being able to "preview" or some other method before finalizing the build is a huge oversight.

I enjoy these tours. Personally i would prefer extra 30-60 seconds inside each module, half of the video getting to them and out, then not properly checking the workstations, feels rushed. Take a few seconds at each position, at least the first time, then you can say it is the same xy workstation as we saw previously. Still i appreciate these videos!
Dont worry, I'm also a hopetec fan. Just dont like their beds and dont love having a mini brig taking up room in the weapons storage. The rest of their modules are cool though

Looks like there are options for an undecorated hab so your entry openings delete less, and the overdecorated version where you’re gonna lose something cool no matter how your connect the hab.

? is it possible to have an enitre ship (the areas you can walk around in) on one level like have the bay to get in the ship on the same level as the cockpit and other crew/habs? now the engines, power, fuel, storage & thrusters on the 2nd level? basically a flat ship
@delindsay
10 ай бұрын
Yup. You have 2 options, place the Landing Bay of choice with a Door (usually in the back of the Ship, but also a side one too) and then everything Habitable is on THAT level. Second option is to use one of the Landing Bays with a Ladder up and have everything on what is technically the 2nd level, from the ground. It gives you space under the Habitable level for things like the Grav Drive, Reactor and such. Third option is the big boy Cockpit that has stairs and is 2 levels (Nova Gallactic on Titan). You could have the main level accessed from the Landing Bay then a 2nd level reserved only for your Captain's Quarters and still have no ladders to climb.
Aren't there infirmary habs as well? Do they include the pharma workbench and research station, or no? They might be a good alternative to the science labs, or if they only have the pharma station then get the workshop that includes research.

how did you get rid of the doors? those doors in my ships annoy me. if you want to put cards (if you mean what i think.. the module name on screen somewhere?) most video editing software has an "add text" feature, even the free ones.
@delindsay
10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I looked further in KZread's "Cards" thing and it's only to showcase other videos you have, not for adding text. I will have to try it in Davinci Resolve. Even the "Correction" thing that's supposed to have been added over a year ago still doesn't work. I got rid of the Doors by removing the 1x1's that were touching each other and replaced them with the Nova Causeways.
It would be awesome if someone made a pdf showing the interior floor plans of all of these and the best places for doors. Best I can do is crap sketches while watching videos haha.

Can you change where ladders go in them? Like if you put two ontop of each other can you choose which side the ladder is on?
@delindsay
10 ай бұрын
Sort of yes and kind of no. First rule of thought is that as long as you allow the Habs to snap naturally to the point you chose, then in theory that's where the ladder would go but it doesn't always work. If you are determined to have a ladder in one exact spot, use a 1x1 Companionway and connect it to the 2 floors BEFORE connecting the rest of the Habs and (usually) that'll be where the game places the ladder.
