For people that wanted to know, Those zealots killed all of the vikings, including the one that got moved by the medivac. That zealot "runby" absolutely won maxpax that game.

Even despite that, it still seemed like Maru could have turned it around from that point. It should have been critical damage that ended the game right there, but it wasn't. Maru had to go on to miss another zealot runby and lose half his army to disruptors to finally be killed off.

Have to love tome zones. I do a decent amount of traveling to southeast asia. Always fun to confuse people when I get home saying, "I just got off a 12 hour flight from Tokyo and got to Chicago 3 hours before I left."

That last game was wonderful gameplay by Maxpax. So fun to watch!

Maru has been doing these weird all-in timings in every big series I see of him. It's like he just doesn't want to go late-game, where we've seen him thrive before. Not sure if the patch threw him off or if he can't be bothered playing high level matches. Same thing happened in GSL last week. So unusual!

Honestly yeh, if you see Mary push out then he’s not expecting you to attack, what a beautiful side ship by MaxPax… I love Maru, but MaxPax absolutely stomped him here

I have a feeling Maru is really dropping the ball lately. Cant remember when i saw him win the last time against a top player. He was even the first player to get eliminated from the currently running GSL in the group phase.

Always fun watching you having way too much fun with dead bodyparts on underwater maps

watching terran lose (from protoss or zerg) warms my heart. seeing 4 ghosts die from a disrupter ball is just beautiful

I know right. I am sure the 3 races are pretty balanced when looking at the statistics, but whenever I watch good terrans play, they just seem so much more powerful than zerg or protoss. Being able to do so much more with much less. Pretty sure it is all in my head, but I cant help smile when zerg or protoss give the terrans a run for their money.

​@@allanlarsen3261Terran is designed as essentially a loe eco heavy agressor or a turtle race. This means they almost alwayd have lower eco& more powerful units. This also makes them very frustrating to fight as their stuff is just *better*.

At 9:45, you'd just use "technical" instead of "technological." Technical would be used for describing the techniques and language around a certain skill, while technological is specific to technologies themselves. That said, fantastic cast! As a long-time viewer, I adore the personality you put into your content and your unique style of banter which makes each video feel conversational even when you do them solo

The Cyclone went from being able to 1v1 a Battle Cruiser early to losing hard to a voidray. Ya they suck now lol.

Those Zealot runbys reminded me of Serral's burrowed roaches, from his past games. In regards to how effective they were and how in most cases, won the game. It has to be said though, Maru isn't near his best, for whatever reason. You can only beat what's in front of you though so well played MaxPax 😀

Maru is waaay off these couple of series ey... Maxpax, however, is just glorious: smooth micro, zealot runbys & stellar pressure-gameplay! Well-done!!

Maxpax making protoss look OP is always a good feeling. I suspect void rays have much untapped potential. In a previous game maxpax ate several liberators while scaring drops with 1 void ray. Defensively that is a great payoff, using them almost like zerg queens. They also may have synergy with disruptors. The disruptor forces a retreat, void rays attack on pursuit, and there is no fear of friendly fire. That sounds like a spicy way to play.

Looks that they made the cyclone out of paper this time around.

For what it's worth I couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary when the microphone was hit. I even rewinded to make sure.

Voidrays are such an underated unit, yes they are a bit expensive, but they hit like crazy vs armored

122 army supply vs 88 from Terran, 12 skirmishes Chargelots only kill 1 Ghost, then the entire Protoss army gets decimated by Vikings, 4 Tanks, and a handful of 2-3 Ghosts and Marines. In the end, Protoss: 72 army supply vs 80 army supply from Terran. It's completely ridiculous; in every game I watch, the Protoss never win the battle when they attack, and the only reason they manage to defend is because of the Shield Battery."

Looks like Blizzard managed to successfully nerf Maru XD Well MaxPax did play very well in any case.

At one moment I thought Maxpax was playing against someone name Emaru 😂

It's pretty weird to see most top terrans trying to use the cyclone like the rework did not happen. A lot of people trying to say that the new cyclone is just worse, but that's only true if you try to use it like the old one. It's basically a new unit that needs new build orders/strategies. Terrans will probably adapt soon, but I kinda expected a little more flexibility from the top ones.

Maybe its more weird to see comments not realize that pros practice new builds like 10 hours a day? An opener with Cyclones like Maru tried literally could not have been done on the old patch, you can't just use a unit differently. Also Terran can't just not do a 1-1-1 and not harass. At pro level the race is built around achieving some early game worker kills or they get crushed later.

Short version: Serrals zvt and zvp is godlike, but his zvz is mortal, he was eliminated through zvz matches. Oliveira didnt seem to perfom on the same level as when he was going for world champion, so yes, Maru might be best T despite Oliveira being world champion.

Like Lowko kept saying, it really felt like Maru was playing them like the old patch. With their speed locked behind an upgrade they're just not fast enough to zone away the Void anymore. Once prismastic alignment pops they just disappeared.

@@jackinthebox301 i've seen a lot of new cyclone play already and since even uThermal and similar grand cheesers can't use it at least 60% as efficiently as the old one i'm considering this a huge nerf and ultimately a removal of the unit from the meta. new cyclones are okay VS zerg but you will be okay in TvZ regardless of cyclones if your opponent isn't Dark or Serral level good. in TvP, cyclones were a useful early push detergent but now... even pumping marines like crazy ignoring factory production at all is way more efficient

So far MaxPax has had 14 wins and 44 losses vs Serral...

I really wish max would play in some offline tourneys. Him and serral are my two favorite players to watch. I enjoy hero a lot too, but i sometimes feel he is a bit more inconsistent (also him leaving his natural open all the time lol!)
