Darth vaders are expensive cuz he's super iconic, collectable, rare, and most importantly, PLAYABLE and POWERFUL in-game

I have been loving my pulls. 5 Vaders, 4 Boba Fett, Iden Showcase and a few other great bits and pieces. In fact, my son and I have 3 of every card, except the Falcon, which we need 2 more of. I am working on foils and hyperspace now. 4 boxes and a few prerelease and sealed events. Seemed to me pretty easy to get the cards. All 5 Vaders came from events, none in the boxes, and the showcase Iden was in a Pre-release pack.

My man over here eating good with these pulls I will say the pull rates are very good and there is good value in the boxes st the right price of course the showcase cards are beautiful to I love that they add such a good chase cards I really hope prices come down on sealed product it's such a great game I miss opening up some boxes I really think if they can get prices down they can make really make some noise in this current tcg world

@@tcg_madness 😆 With the money I have spent on the game, I am eating poorly indeed. LoL. Collector not scalper. I could get fat on the profit otherwise! I may try and line up some sort of trade for a low cost Leader Showcase for the excess vaders and stuff.

@@tcg_madness Another 2 boxes, the last of our preorder, arrived. A foil Vader, Boba Fett, Falcon, a Discard error, hyperspace Cunning, Vigilance, Luke, a few other bits and pieces. Good boxes.

This is my first ever trading card game I have ever gotten into… and I have to say, I’m really not liking what I’m seeing. I originally just invested so my Dad and I could have another Star Wars game to play. We bought a starter box, 1 pre-release box, and 2 booster boxes (one for $95 and the other for $130)… our family doesn’t have a lot of disposable income, so our plan was to buy 1 box every other paycheck… well when the boxes shot up… we gave up. And honestly the volatility of the prices has us concerned with even wanting to continue in a serious manner. We may just buy 2 deck starter boxes moving forward and forget about all the other cards and boosters. This kind of thing really killed the desire to continue. I can see now this is a thing not for the average person, this is a premium in regards to games, and that just doesn’t sound appealing. In short, we are priced out and now lack interest.

I've been playing and collecting cards for almost 20 years now I wouldn't let this ruin it for ya unfortunately this is kind of the norm with alot of cards games especially with any card games first set i would definitely buy singles on tcg player but boxes I would wait to prices come down trust me they will come down these prices can not sustain long term its unfortunate I completely understand where you are coming from but I wouldn't give up yet

Woah what? I don't want to sound like an a**hole but I make 6 figures $$$, I've only bought 1 booster box for me and my wife, but we LOVE the game so we're going to continue to play it. You definitely do NOT need to buy a booster box every month to continue playing the game. With my 1 box + buying singles we've made 4 complete full powered decks.

Have someone locally that bought 2 cases and now theyre selling out because they dont like the timeout loss rule. Seems a little nitpicky to me, but definitely think we need an alternate win con because players can slow play against control.

@@tcg_madness yep. So if you don't finish a round, both players lose. There's no such thing as a draw. So if your opponent is slow or you're both playing control etc.. and go to time, you both get a loss. I wish there was something where ties were decided like remaining health on base, # cards left etc.. etc..

I think card games as an investment is becoming more mainstream. Everyone wants a piece of the first set in the hopes that they have a Pokemon like game. So the demand is high because of investors and it is a good game. I bought 2 boxes at $90. Would have bought more but I heard that this will be printed to demand and didn’t want to be caught holding a bag.

Investing in cards is definitely becoming more and more popular so the demand is high just wish we can get to a place where the market for both players and collectors are good not great because I get that's hard to do but can we at least see sealed prices come down a little lol

Star wars launched March 8th. There was some pre-release stuff a week early but that was the street date for the game, So yeah your timelines are a little off. It jumped March 13th because that's literally one week after the game launched. It is jumping again now because there's hardly any product out there which FFG has already announced a reprint coming in the next couple weeks plus another with the launch of the second set in July, which also has a release date

Yes I try not to look to far into the information for the videos I just like to use tcg player but after I record I look for more info yes you are correct they have announced reprints are coming soon I hope this does help with pirces I think after a 3rd set drops you will see the pieces drastically come down definitely gonna keep an eye on this for sure

The first increase follows when they announced the printing selling out. The flat line afterwards is when the extra printings were announced. Then the 3 boxes(cases?) per store per month was announced and the price jumped again.

Do not worry about prices the name unlimited means there will be an unlimited supply its in the press release they will reprint this along as there is need and the next set will be printed like crazy. Dont buy anything and hold it its not worth it you will lose a ton of money. First set wasn't printed enough because their previous star wars game wasn't so popular. This isnt MTG the philosophy of this game is to print print print. This game is not for investing.

Completely agree this is not a investor game this is suppose to be for the players FFG I set to start printing the hell of out of it and I look forward to seeing prices come down let's see if the company actually follows through with it

@@tcg_madness Fwiw, it may be a little of both. Yes, if the player base and demand continue to grow, there will be more printed. However, two opportunities that remain speculatively viable as investments are the Showcases and the Hyperspace Foil Legendary variants. HF Legendaries are 1:208 packs, vs the 1:8 for standard Legendaries. Rate for pulling a specific HSF Legendary (ie Vader) is 1:3328. Odds for Showcases are 1:288 for any Showcase and 1:4608 for a specific one. Regular Legendaries have demand but they are not particularly rare, and will get less rare with future printings (on top of likely being deprecated in playability by future cards). But for investors and master set collectors, there will probably be a market in the future for the cards that are *actually* hard to get. I'd wait on investing in sealed product for the Spark of Rebellion set, though, until July-ish when prices should go down with a reprint and the players shift focus to the second set. At that point if you're planning on a long hold (2 years+) you should be able to 2x or 3x ROI.

I think this game has the best chance of any out now to become the next big one that really lasts. The game is fun, balanced and backed by a huuuuge IP. I know FFG has a bad track record but if they don’t shoot themselves in this and cater to the scalpers SWU will stick around for a long time.

I do think your correct this game and new dragon ball fusion world specific have a great chance to survive Long term The question for SWU will be weather or FFG will cater to the players not collectors/scalpers nothing wrong with collectors but in my opinion when you cater to them you lose your base that will hard-core support you long term collectors come and go and buy sets they feel they can invest in players will buy any set build decks and show up for competive and casual play which also helps your local card store which then tells them to buy more product and set up tournament play and the cycle goes on so yes FFG need to step up and supports this they finally found a great card game now back it properly

@@tcg_madness 100%. I’m not familiar with the dragon ball tcg mainly because I will not let myself get into another one in addition to SWU lol. The collector and investor in me wants the prices of my collection to keep going up but the player in me wants them to drop so I can get two more Vader. I’m just hoping for longevity here above all else but all the LGS I’ve talked to have said things like that they were promised two cases then given two boxes. Packs shouldn’t be this inaccessible.

Seems every time I play in them I get a Vader n either the sealed packs or the prize pack/s/ Got one on Saturday and was just like, "Yep, there he is..." So seems I have your 2 extras :( Sorry about that!
