i've been looking at this for a while, but i'm definitely on the 'star wars fatigue' side of the fence. if this was an lcg rather than a ccg i think i would be more enthused about it.

Disney purchased the Marvel and Star Wars IPs in 2009/2012 respectively and has just crammed mediocre products down our throats ever since, ruining both brands for me.

What's sad are the great games were all shot in the foot. X-Wing and Armada are basically dead and even Legion feels like it fading. FFG loves Star Wars but they had those really great games stripped from them. This is them finally getting a foot back in the door with SW games again (outside of RPG).

Stores everywhere are sold out of booster packs and no talk of a reprint of set 1 till the “holidays”. July set 2 is supposed to come out. So really hard or expensive to get into this game right now if you’re going to play competitively. Great game though if you can get cards…

Where you live they mostly have Catan and Wingspan tournaments AFAIK 😅😅

I am surprised that you mention a lack of scene, we do have weekly events here in croatia, even with the lack of product, there are some promo packs to be given out as incentive

Right now, the collectors, speculators and investors are buying up EVERYTHING. Fantasy Flight has announced there will be a reprint of the first set of cards after they print and release the second set of cards. Right now, buying cards costs about twice as much as it 'ought' to. Unless you have FOMO like a MOFO, don't buy this now. Wait. Just wait! Fantasy Flight prints into the ground... do not pay 2X the actual price, just to play something that might be yesterdays news when the prices do normalize.

For casual games without much booster buying, does it beat star wars deckbuilder?

You can try it out on Forcetable vs an AI for free and without registration, then make your own opinion if the starter set can do it as a standalone game. For sure you'll have more variety on the deckbuilder, but personally I enjoyed as well my play with the starter deck so I'll have both but re,ain with starter decks. there will be new one with the mandalorian expansion.

The starter set Luke vs. Vader are really balanced and full of fun synergies to discover.

I've dumped thousands into Lorcana. I like SWU but I can really only afford 1 TCG. I might buy a box or two... but I can't go crazy. Great video as always guys!

I hesitate to "invest" into Star Wars Unlimited given the history of SW tcgs in the past. They never seem to last more than a few years. Usually less than 5.

Man I like your reviews more than I hate tcg ccg games. I cannot stop thinking about those as cashgrab, like why not to buy new game instead?

Star Wars Deckbuilder with added capitalism, for some reason.

It’s just too expensive to expand the game so it’s a pass.
