Amazing video. Worth noting a couple things: Most Imperial units do move at speed 2, or at minimal have ways around this with keywords. Off the top of my head it's Palpatine, Commander Vader, Snowtroopers, the GAV tank, Eweb, Shore mortar, and dewback, and the Dark Troopers that move at speed 1. But many of these units either have Keywords to be able to increase move size, can move twice and still attack, or have just huge bases so it doesn't matter as much. Also it feels like you missed a big pro in being able to run basically every bounty hunter in the game, which is really huge. Rebels you got pretty good I think, but it's worth noting every faction can be run gimmicky, that's just how many of the keywords and abilities work. I can't really comment on other factions too much as I don't play the other 3, but playing against every faction is scary in its own way. Whether you're being swarmed by b1s, rebels having dodge tokens like a kid with candy on Halloween, empire and the marching wall of suppression, GAR and the units that just never seem to die, and Shadow Collective... well I only played them once so jury is still out. 😅

I appreciate the feedback! I'm guessing my local group mostly run the slow plodding empire as all 3 of the empire players usually run it that way. The bounty hunters are a big pro I am surprised I missed as well... but I'm not perfect! With Rebels that's a super good point I didn't really consider, there hero's just seemed to rely on it a bit more when I was reading them.

@jackofalltradesgaming4882 100%, and please don't take the feedback as being me being mean, thats not my intention. I'm glad more folks are getting into it and learning about the game. As the group grows, you definitely see more styles. My goto empire list is Officer, x3 storms, x1 shore with mortar, GAV with the EWeb riding in it, and 2 dewbacks. Definitely can get mean. My play group runs lots of armor though, so milage may vary.

I didn't read any of it as negative or mean, I really do appreciate it! And that list looks dangerous... I am hoping we don't get to many new empire players as half the current group are already playing them. I was the first shadow collective player for my group.

In my unbiased opinion, the Empire is easily the best faction. I will admit, however, that it can be fun to control both the Republic and the Separatist simultaneously.

Despite your completely unbiased opinion, couldn't tell how it could be influenced any other way, you are correct. Empire has the best win rate out of all the factions right now, maybe it'll change in the future but for now, enjoy it!

Just got into legion, ordered my first core set and a few additional boxes. It seems a lot of people are getting into the game this month which is truly amazing. I joined the SW Legion subreddit and many posts were about newcomers excited to discover the game, and just as I got to my local games workshop store to grab my first ever paints, I heard 2 guys talking about getting into the game too !

I just got into it too. Got the original movies core set and most of the Jedis and Sith operatives. Plus Shadow collective Sabine Wren and Clan Wren. Sabine is a lot of fun to play with alongside Asoka. Great game.

Much like warhammer 40k, if you’re new, just pick the faction that looks coolest or you like best from the movies because chances are it’ll fit your play style especially if you’re familiar with the movies. If you like the CIS because of their sheer amount of numbers then you’ll like them in legion. If you like the rebels because of how nimble they are and their guerrilla tactics, you’ll like them in legion. The game translates how each faction is in the movies to the tabletop pretty well imo

Glad I stumbled on this! I’m a long time legion player and I love that people are finding it! Not sure if you are accepting input at this time but here it goes: I think you got rebels and CIS pretty well. I feel like the Empire’s play style revolves around having a lot of units with solid stats for their cost, but there aren’t very many synergistic won I combos, or any surprises you can pull. In general, the empire puts down a good army with both opponents knowing the coming play pattern. For the republic, I think one big piece of them you missed is that when list building with them you can hear your army into any specific purpose you want, and the whole army can have synergies towards that purpose. Last thing I’ll bring up: I think shadow collective actually does very very well with diverse units in their army, it can just be hard to pilot for a newer player or if you don’t have a plan for the diverse units you are bringing. I know by quantity most of the worst I just typed at you might have felt like criticism and maybe I should keep my thoughts to myself, but oh well… anyways I really liked the video!

I want to try and make as many things accessible for this game, and a video you can listen to in the background and get a good idea of how to play better is my goal

Plus I have been watching Mandalorian and I am going through animated Clone Wars, so painting up the Legion figures was what got into considering this game.👍

Good video. Would just add- Empire pro- The suppressive faction that dishes out the most suppression if you build them that way SC con- The least ordered faction, so bad activation control, which is how they get so many tokens

Fair enough, my brain just added suppression and gunline together while scripting. Also with independent dodge/aim being so prevalent in SC I don't really see it as a Con, more a mechanic you have to play around. But then again I main them so I'm a little biased

I mean both in the original canon/Legends and new canon they are accurate and a very big threat but they are usually treated like a joke now

its like ausepx tactics..... yes its called youtube power point presentation style...its been used since before video sharing was common, its a very very old way because its simple yet functional.

Thank u for being the most honest until now. The mechanics is unique and awesome and the price never hiked so much. Rebels sucks unfortunately, Waited for over 2 years for an improvement that never comes for the faction.

Even if it is, Empire is still a very solid faction to play so you won't be in a tough spot

For empire you need to have a thought out list. Because I just bought random units that looked cool to me and I later found out none of it works together

It also depends on who you go against, but I should probably more specify every unit is viable, which for some armies like rebels or even republic/cis to an extent aren't as viable.

Would buy the Republic if I got into Legion

This is one of the easist wargames to get friends to join in with you, the buy in to start playing is only around $150 which is super cheap in comparison to a lot of other wargames. Even if you can't find anyone to buy in there are quiet a few tabletop sim discord groups for this game so you should be able to try it that way without a problem!

@@Wargamerofalltrades ive seen them on sale in my gaming hubs, theyre really cheap at like £120ish! i just hold off because im not a good painter for one, and for two id rather buy them if i know for sure im getting games of them. i used to have a sizeable LOTR GW dwarf army, but then when that system went quiet about a decade or so ago after the hobbit came out, i lost the ability to play it as much, so the army gathered dust. i dont want the same to happen to my legion set, because it looks too awesome to waste do you have any discord tablesims groups to recommend?

This game does have an expectation for you to at least attempt to paint your minis, but don’t let that hold you back! There is not a huge stigma to have immaculate armies like there is in some other games, overall the community is pretty chill

in the UK the sets have recently gone up in price by 25% +

Other wargames are far more expeinsive for far less, hence the very cheap. Warhammer for instance gets you one squad for 50usd, and the shadow collective box set cost me the same.

You say they won't have many more options coming for shadow collective... Why make it a faction then? That makes zero sense, and they have alot options they could add to it.

They more realized it as a Battleforce, which so far haven't gotten much support after the initial release. They will hopefully be able to take advantage of New Merc units when they come out.
