What bothers me about this boss fight is there is no real reason why Bode should be even a challenge to Cal at this point imo. He's faced multiple bounty hunters, a previous Jedi Dagan Gera who was clearly skilled. The Rayvis boss fight was much better designed and he seemed more challenging...Bode is what a guy skilled with a gun but how often has he really used his lightsaber since the purge. How strong he is using force abilities bothers me too.

I can definitely agree with that, he should not have been more difficult than dagan or rayvis. It would have been better if he was easier cos it would make more sense, but i guess it’s because its the final boss, so they had to make him difficult. But then that confuses me, because obviously Vader should be the most powerful boss to fight, but he was nerfed due to story. My theory on that is because vader underestimated cere and took it easy, but in his final phase, he began to get more difficult. But why focus on story on vader boss fight, but not on bode too, doesnt make sense. Overall, still good boss fight, but in terms of story, he should have been easier

Rayvis fight was the best one in the game purely because it flowed well and you can get into a rythm. Other bosses felt so clunky with an insane mix of long and short windup moves and 1 hit kill combos.

Well, Bode actually works well as a mma fighter Jack of all trades style : he’s good with his blaster/saber/ the force/ his explosives and his hands. He’s not really a master of any of them ( except maybe the blasters. He’s one of the best gunslingers in game) he’s just good enough with them to be a threat and he’s seamlessly switches from one to the other in the middle of the fight. But as each weapon is lost he becomes more of a feral animal. The final phase of the battle was easiest for me, since aside from the force enhanced blade strikes he’s relying only on the force and his saber and Cal beats him alone with only some difficulty. He seemed rusty with his saber to me since his moves with it are pretty standard aside from the reverse shien grip. Bode is at least 10 years older than Cal so he was a knight during the purge and completed his training and had more experience as a full Jedi and then as a spy, but Cal has been using his saber regularly and not hiding.Cal is definitely better with the saber and the force, Bode just used his skill set in a very fluid way to bridge the cap. ( plus in the final battle he was getting dark side enhanced, which is why he seemed so potent in the force. He was drawing from his fear and anger for a power boost and he was feral by the end of the fight) But that might just be me. While both the Bode fights were my favorite in terms of story, Reyvis and Dagan were both more challenging and had fun mechanics .

I still have these almost impossible challenges for me 2 Oggdo, 2 Rancor and an other tear battle with 3 monsters at the same time. I know it's not a challenge for you, you're very impressive but your videos are educationals for noobs like me. Also I would find it interesting to see you beat the bosses with each differents weapons. Have you thought about commenting on your fights to explain your combos or techniques? Impressive! I went through the game on JM difficulty, Bode wasn't really tough for me, not like Rayvis and Vader anyway. I like to think I parry pretty well but being able to perfect parry on grandmaster is legendary. Great skill you have.

You are a legend. Got his moves down to the tea. I can't pass the third phase when he unleash like 3 unblockables in a row. I think I'm rushing too much. 😂😢

Just finished the game on Grandmaster, and this fight drove me insane, probably the only one. For some reason I was having attacks phase through him, and even had my girlfriend watch closely (she watched me play it anyway lol) to make sure i wasnt crazy. I'd swing and would literally go through him, and then he would kill me. Had it happen every attempt.

This fight is straight up unfair, you time a attack right as he attacks, not only does he not get stunned and still hits you, his health doesn’t even go down. Plus that god awful heat seeking grab

Bode was a challenge. Maybe not as skilled a Dagan Gera, but his ruthless and aimless strikes make up for it. Plus, he’s got a lot of weapons at his disposal. Including the Force.

I way trying to beat Bode 3 evening in a row on Jedi Knight difficulty and did it only when changed difficulty to Padawan. Player in this video is a real Jedi with unreal reaction!

I played through the whole game on Grandmaster and fought every boss except Rayvis with the single blade (I used the double bladed lightsaber for Rayvis). NGL Bode was pretty easy. The third fight with Dagan was a little unfair to the player so I don't want to take that one into account, but Rayvis and Vader were both fair and a lot harder than Bode in my humble opinion. Now this could just be my skills improving by the time I got to Bode, but I doubt that's the case.

Thats fair enough🫡 my issue with bode is that he can just do a random quickshot which i found irritating, but he wasnt the hardest for me, id say its between rayvis and 3rd encounter dagan, it was a pain doing them no damage. However, Vader is the second easiest in my opinion, first being the 9th sister, simply because we play as a more powerful character, cere, and her parry timings are way more bigger than cals

@@AlawiDenGhosty Bode's quickshot does barely any damage, plus he almost always used it when I was in the air so I could air dash to dodge it. That might have just been me getting lucky, but that's how I dealt with it. Half the time I ended up tanking it though, which obviously wouldn't be an option for a no-hit run... so props for that. It was one of the only attacks that actually hit me on the run where I beat him. About Vader... the only reason I put him higher on my personal difficulty ranking is because learning his moveset was harder. His attacks all do absurd damage and his moveset changes after every cutscene. Once you learn all the movesets it's an easy W. I'm also fairly certain that Cere autoparries when you block, either that or her parry window is simply enormous. I didn't miss a single parry against Vader, I only ever died to moves I hadn't seen. I'd have to go back and check to be sure. A final note: I want to tell you I'm a big fan of your channel. It's nice to go back and watch the boss fights played at such a high level after beating the game myself, most KZread playthroughs are just Story Mode runs with no thought to dodging or parrying. It's definitely a better viewing experience when the game is played well, it takes me out of the story when Cal has to tank every attack lol.

@The_D0C70R yeah true, bodes quickshot doesnt do much damage but it still is damage in a no damage run🥲 it did take me a while to predict n dash away from it. And i can agree with vaders moveset to be harder, like im certain he has the highest attack combo in both games, maybe like 7/8 attacks before he takes a second gap to then release another 7/8 attacks😂 but i believe ceres parry window is just huge, there has been times where ive just blocked without a parry, but for me thats what made vader easy after knowing his moveset. Curious to see how vader is in the 3rd game against cal, I’ll guarantee his parry timing will not be as forgiving and he’ll be the hardest boss weve ever seen🥲 And thank you so much, it really really means a lot to me. I always try my best to make sure my content is as enjoyable to watch and to challenge myself for people like you to enjoy :) next up is spiderman 2 this friday and ill be doing the same thing. Grats man ! I am also now at this last battle of the fight 😊 Bode final third phase is rather tough to handle ,cause of his heavy swings and sudden unavoidable air attack ,not knowing when he do em and I had to play cautiously I am using the blaster stance and it’s been effective against him too

Yeah that sudden air attack was the band of my existence, ruined my no hit run so many times. Eventually i got used to it and was always on my toes. I didnt know blaster stance works against lightsaber users, only time i knew it worked was with Rayvis. Maybe u can only shoot them during unblockable attacks 🤔 And goodluck man, u got this :)

Cal has the coolest lightsaber ever.

Playing this on Grand Master, and I was so close on beating him. His move around 8:14 caught me off guard. I'm doing this with a keyboard (it's a pain).

Holy shit yes, exactly the same here. I kid you not, in that moment, i was a nanosecond away from being hit because of how unexpected it was, but luckily i had the reaction time to dodge it. God I still see that moment flashing before my eyes🥲😂 Idk what the controls are like on a keyboard for a game like this, would parry by right click? Sounds awful🥲

If im being completely honest with you, 2x spawn of oggdo isnt that much of a challenge to me, quite easy 💪 but ive never fought a rancor before, that is certainly gonna be a challenge. But yeah, ill happily get those done :) maybe on friday though, got an exam in 2 hours and another one of friday mornin’. But consider it done 🫡

@alawidenghosty Is the DW Force Parry precision talent worth taking? I didn't see you use the Force Parry at all.... however you can cancel it by releasing the Force Parry and mashing dodge. I'd like to get your opinion on it.

Im not a fan of the force parry when it comes to boss fights, feels like a waste on the force meter and pushes them away from me when i prefer the close combat, I believe it does work against bode, but i prefer normal parries or even point blank parries 🫡

@@AlawiDenGhosty About how much block meter would a precision released Force Parry do against a boss block meter? The thing I noticed about the Force Parry is that it's a great opportunity to switch stances mid-combat and "punish" a broken block bar. One of the only weaknesses of DW stance is lack of damage from a standing position (the only ability does does decent damage from a "cold" startup is the backward-leaping double strike). But if you Precision Parry into a broken guard, you can switch stances during the animation and IMMEDIATELY use a "punisher" ability like the Single Saber jumping slam (block + attack), or one of several Crossguard abilities. Of course you can seamlessly switch back to Dual Wield during the animation for the "punisher" attack and pick up where you left off. (Side note: do you ever use the DW slash - pause - slash dive forward into holding attack button down for the combo? It doesn't take Force, and the combo's end ["Serpent Strike?"] staggers and deals some damage through guard. Any thoughts?)

Theres a lot to unpack here 🥲give me a minute haha I wouldnt say much of his meter would be removed, maybe almost a quarter. I did not have the upgrade during this fight but i did during the double oggdos and it does slightly more than a normal parry. Also your idea to switch stance and use it when you have a broken block meter is actually really smart, big brain 🫡 i would absolutely start implementing that into my combat. I did attempt to switch stances when i break an enemies guard but the problem is that i would either forget to change/change back or i start focusing on making sure i switch stances if that makes sense 🤔 something i do need to work on I did try the slash pauses but it has no effect on any lightsabers duelists on grandmaster, they would simply just parry it like normal so i did not bother using it, and when i do use it with a broken guard, they would fly back before i can finish the whole combo🥲id say those combos are best at lower difficulties or non-boss enemies 🤔 Hope i tackled everything u commented 😅 hope it helps, happy to answer anything. And thank u for some tips, they are definitely good ones to note 🫡

Yup, most bosses use more red attacks when you get too far from them. I try my best to stay close🫡

The way he beat me for like 5 hours on jedi grand master i almost think you used slow mode and then speed up the video😂 My tips stage 1 use merrin, stage 2 use force lift, stage 3 keep distance and dodge everything then when he grabs you, you get one free hit after the red swing.

Beat the whole game on Jedi Master instead of Grandmaster and thank god I did. I somehow was able to beat Bode 2nd try w 10 stims, but oh my gosh is 3rd phase is a nightmare. Istg he has hyper armor on normal swings bc I’d hit him and he wouldn’t stop attacking. Anyways nice no hit on grandmaster. Hoping for a 3rd game to come out in a few years with a better launch than this one 😅

Only perk i used was resilience (increases block meter) because i only have 3 perk slots at the time. But if you have at least 7, i recommend these 3: Resilience Fortitude (increase damage but also incoming damage) Shatter (attacks are more effective at breaking enemy guard)

I just leave the settings as it is, i just put on performance mode 🤷‍♂️ sometimes when the game is on for too long, like 3 hours, its drops so i simply just restart the application and it goes back to normal

I don't understand why Cal takes that second kill shot at the end unless they meant to show him getting dark. I have a hard time believing Cal would kill Bode when he's down and beaten in front of his daughter unless he's surrendered to tge dark side.

His daughter was knocked out by bode, so she saw nothing. But i think the reason why he shot twice is to just make sure hes dead. Keeping him alive is a threat to everyone, even bodes daughter

What I find really annoying about Survivor is bosses have this really annoying mix of slow windup and really fast moves all bundled together in a way that really breaks the intuitive flow of the game. Bode's body moves really fast but his arms move so fucking slowly in comparison. It really throws me off and breaks any sort of flow. How long did it take you to master this fight?

I do get what you mean, its even worse though in souls like games like elden ring🥲 he can be very unpredictable, had a similar problem to rayvis. About 3-4 hours it took me to master the fight. I basically take the time to understand what his attacks do and when he would use them etc, and his speed in which i have to parry becomes muscle memory. Bode is very unforgiving when you parry him but if you constantly bother him, he will struggle. All in all, they did that to just make the game harder for people and make many people suffer🥲 he should not have been the hardest boss fight across both games but here we are🥲
