I find it so poetic that Bode didn't die by the lightsaber. He died by the blaster. The same blaster he gave to Cal. His betrayal came back to him. And he knew it too. The look on his face when his own malfunctioned was just tragic.

Bode has also logical weakness when it comes to lightsaber combat. Namely that he seems to have had only little practice beyond basic training, which means he's very vulnerable to parrying. He has to try to make up that with using gadgets in 1st & 2nd phases and telekinetics in 3rd phase.

Nicely done. I love how writers didn't give Bode any redemption. Legit. Bode's false surrender forced Cal to kill him. Mercy won't work on someone who will inevitably try to kill you later, even if he says he won't.
I hated Bode for his betrayal, but at the same time, I could kind of understand where he was coming from. In the end, what he really wanted to do was protect his daughter. He might've had good intentions, but that took him down a dark path of no return.

I can understand him being a double agent all that time. But the moment they got the compass why fight? Why not escape together to Tanalorr where the Empire supposedly can't reach them and then come clean (or not). Bode has a problem with Cal giving the Planet to the Hidden Path. What's the issue? 1:34 I like the improved quality of the force dash in Jedi survivor. It makes the Bode feel like he’s actually dashing instead of teleporting around like the Second Sister from Fallen Order. It makes it appear as if there’s a weight to the character, physical or emotional or whatever. I also like the fight story-wise. Bode seemed to want to protect his daughter at the start of the fight but lost sight of what he was doing in the near end of the fight, basically calling Cal unskilled at the near end (4:38). And this is probably up for interpretation, but Bode seemed almost hypocritical at the end of the fight, putting someone Cal cares about in danger to protect someone he cared about himself.
"Learn to fight!" Dude, he's mastered it. You learn to fight.
after rayvis, dagan 3 and vader this fight felt like a walk in the park. no stun locks, no endless combos, actually reacted to being hit. he still had those moonveil attacks, but they were actually reactable and only came one at a time, unlike with dagan 3.

Given Bode’s position as a member of the Republic Intelligence (indicating he’s likely in the sentinel class of Jedi), his skill with various weapons and tools including blasters and his jet pack, and skill with Force integration and handling of the reverse grip, I believe Bode is both a Shien and Niman practitioner in lightsaber combat. Between the two I believe he favors the latter as the reverse grip only applies to his saber/blaster hybrid technique, and his complimentary balance between agility and strength are hallmarks of a Niman specialist, and would allow him to perform admirably against Cal in both fights despite likely being out of practice for years.
04:39 " *Learn to fight* " says this as he's getting literally murdered lol
I like how they made Bode a reverse-grip user. Like there's a lot of Force Users who occasionally use reverse-grip (like Cal, Dagan, Obi-Wan) but Bode is just straight up reverse-grip and that's awesome

I think that the blaster saber combo one is very useful, and that the single blade form pairs well with it, especially since it’s very consistent. The cross guard saber form is also very good for damage output and has a decent defense. As shown here, it also pairs well with combos involving the single saber form. The duel blade is easy to use since it increases your ability to survive enemy barrages, but it trades it for lackluster damage and range. The double blade is niche, but useful in its own ways, especially with crowds. I’d say that having multiple different load-outs is a good choice.
