This is the alpha release of Lorul1's huge 100v100 Naboo: Assault on Theed map, inspired by the Naboo: Theed Galactic Assault map from DICE's upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Summary:
Naboo: Assault on Theed is the latest map from Battles of the Storm creator Lorul1, which attempts to cross the shear massive scale of his previous works with the layout and design of DICE's new Star Wars: Battlefront 2 map, Naboo: Theed. Despite not having personal access to the beta, Lorul1 has done a fairly accurate job in recreating the layout of the map and the gameplay aspects of flagship game mode, Galactic Assault. Command post placement is good for both sides, requiring minimal travel to get to the action. The unlimited reinforcements and countdown timer provide a refreshing new take on the classic SWBF2 formula. Taking a lot of inspiration from DICE's game, Lorul1 has completely revamped the sides for both Republic and CIS to recreate each unit accurately with new skins, and in some cases even new models, for each unit as well as a selection of new abilities similar to their 2017 counterparts. Classes include the Assault, Heavy, Officer and Specialist, with both sides also including one special reinforcement unit each: B2 Super Battle Droids for the CIS and Clone Jump Troopers for the Republic. The hero units are Yoda for the Republic and Darth Maul for the CIS, both complete with Saber Throw and revamped Force Push abilities.

XD a group of modders have recreated a game that is about to come out with similar abilities and although the gameplay seems abit derpy, it still seems alot better than what EA has produced. Thats why Battlefront 2 (2005) will be the superior game everyday.

so far they re-made a map, while it does take a lot of effort it's no where near enough to call a "re-creation of the full game"

The fact is, that a small group of modders have recreated so far one map, and when the full Battlefront EA 2 comes out, im sure someone will try to create those maps in the 2005 Battlefront 2 and have AI, AND be alot larger and possibly more fun offline than EA's version. So yes, from what we have soo far, they have recreated the game into an older one through mods, for free, with no microtransactions and being better gameplay wise, but not graphic wise.

bliznerfgenj tbh I actually have played the closed alpha and the beta. Based on the gameplay shown here, my comment still stands. Not to mention, the power of the modders in Star Wars Battlefront 2 have done far more than im sure people actually realize. Its limited by its engine, the graphics, and the modders imagination. We havent had access to the Naboo map to be seen enough, yet modders recreated the map? We have had what? 1 week in public beta for modders to see, then recreate the map, units, and what is in the surrounding area.
Now we only need the new gamemode in the mod and you got it!
If your current system can't support the new one, you can always use this mod

Not really, I'm merely stating that while, yes there is a lot of improvements to the new one, EA being the ip holder of Battle Front 2 is not a good thing.

It's not... Battlefront 2 2017 is way way faster and dynamic... This fact just make the game clearly better than the older Battlefront.

Anthony only they make the game for those who have high end comps. So bf2 og is the best and can create more mods even TOR era. Plus, the community is gonna be toxic soon when the bf2 2017 turns popular

Sorry to say but the beta was better than this. I like the Assault on Theed mode and if this were more like that, it'd be better. The og BF2 is the best tho

L1-Gaming That is good to hear! Also sorry if my comment offended you in any way, I appreciate your work! I just found it very hard to get kills while playing and it got a bit annoying. But of course this is still an alpha. The scale of the battle was just right and I really like how the MTT goes towards the palace. I'm very much looking forward to the final release, this has great potential! Modders like you inspire me to learn modding myself but so far I have been too busy with other stuff to really get started.

The only issue i can see at this point is a high TTK, but the way you brought all the EA features in is awesome. Question: Will Ion disruptors play a part in destroying the MTT or is it like other destroyable vehicles?
What!? You can just hop into a vehicle you see lying around? This is soooo bullshit. I want to break emersion by getting points to spawn in vehicles.
