Star Wars Battlefront II Mods (PC) HD: 1st Battle of Geonosis | Battlefront Redux

In this video I'm going to be playing the first map from the 'Battlefront Redux' project by Raigiku and co.
Summary:
Battlefront Redux aims to replicate the major battles shown in the movies, TV shows and other media, adding a sense of scale and incorporating new sounds, models and skins. The first map or 'snapshot', as they refer to, in this series is based on the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones. The new era adds 10 new Republic classes and 9 new CIS classes, complete with new weapon loadouts. The stats for each weapon have been tweaked accordingly to recreate a more authentic experience during the course of the battle, whilst also ensuring that both sides remain relatively well balanced. Recoil has also been implemented for each weapon to encourage tactical gunplay as opposed to continuous firing. One of the most interesting features of this mod is random hero selection at the start of each match. Each map has a selection of different heroes and villains, in this case Kit Fisto, Aayla Secura and Mace Windu as heroes and Count Dooku and Jango Fett as villains, which will be randomly assigned at the start of the game. The Jedi and Sith heroes possess a variety of new abilities whilst Jango Fett comes complete with dual pistols (yay!) and a large arsenal including jetpack rocket, wrist rocket, sabre dart and flamethrower. There also appear to be no real bugs present which is really nice to see!
Pros:
+ Random heroes at the start of every game - Kit Fisto, Aayla Secura, Mace Windu, Jango Fett and Dooku.
+ New sides are well balanced and plenty of cool new weapons.
+ Massive 100vs100 battle.
Cons:
- No first person models.
- Movement speeds of some units work well here on Geonosis but could be an issue on large, less open maps where you have to look for the enemy.

Heron Pirollo Like jar jar in episode 1. So that's why I thought I saw a clone riding it out of the corner of my eye. For some reason I didn't think much of it, even though hailfire droid drivers are not exposed. I just assumed a clone had managed to hijack one. Does the AI even do that? I've seen them riding enemy vehicles before but most recently (only time I can remember) was after I'd hijacked an enemy AAT, another ally had jumped in the gunner seat and then I'd got out, leaving him to switch to pilot. Lol. They say "concentrate on that hailfire" immediately after you see him as well.

1. That melee droid is the strongest droid I've ever seen. Capable of ruining your killing spree as well as able to defeat the strongest jedi out there. 2. They gave Aayla Teemo's "Passive"??

El Fabricio hey! Is beta 5 for BF3L coming out soon? I'd love to know more about what to expect from the new version as well. That and how progress is thus far. I'm sure you know what you're doing. So please, don't rush it. But then again, it's been a month or two since the reassurance of new content. So.. I leave you to trust your judgement.

Secura isn't the strongest Jedi out there but that was impressive. But I like this version of Secura more, she never had dual wielded light sabers anyway.

Rebel scum I honestly think they did just to give the heroes someone with multiple light sabers since the villains had Grievous and Mual. But I'd rather them be accurate and give all the Jedi characters their cannon weapons instead of giving someone a second lightsaber just to add a Jedi with dual weapons. But tbh Battlefront 2's clone wars campaign was never really cannon and was completely inaccurate. They put galatic marines in the 501st, gave galatic marines bullistic chain guns they don't even use. They tossed Commander Baccara in the 501st and renamed him a heavy trooper (made absolutely no sense, they could have just given 501st troopers a heavy trooper loadout and even a backpack and/or pauldron to make them look different). Where lazy and put the 501st in a bunch of movie battles (Utapau, Kashyyk, Mygetto) that they were never in and never should have been in and couldn't have been in (it would be impractical to shift them in and out of those battles) rather than just getting creative and making the campaign have three missions on new planets altogether and starting a little before ROTS. Fortunately, the game got better in the OT era. The reason they did that is BF1 was about reliving movie battles but you just can't accurately do that for Episode 3 if you try to be different and make a campaign focused on a specific unit (501st). So they either should have been completely different and made a CW mode with three new prequel planets and battles (this different effect the OT era because the 501st actually was in the important film battles and they look the same as most other stormies) or just did what they did before and solely focused on important battles (they could have still add scenarios for each individual mission and could have shown the 212th, 501st, Galatic Marines, and 41st in the CW and various imperial units).

Awesome, glad you chose this mod to do a video on, Raigiku is pretty underrated in my opinion though it does not look like he did much the units took quite a long time to make. If you need a suggestion for a newer mod to do then I suggest BusinessBill's Battlefront II Mandalorians Mod which adds in 5 new eras to a majority of the maps, it is very fun and you might see skin changes for certain eras.

This is the first one of his maps I've played, blown away by the amount of effort that has gone into these sides. Will definitely keep a look out for more of his stuff in the future. Thanks for the suggestion Mike, I'll have to give that one a shot!

Ügiustus Keiserus Yea I agree I heard that both ARCs are better than Commandos, especially the Null ARCs since Commandos were trained across all fields *as a team* while Null ARCs were trained across all fields as just One Person. For Alpha ARCs, I'm not too sure if it's just the Null ARCs but with less physical attibutes and is the more perferable units.

PhoenixSlayer303 It also comes down to their training, clones were at their peak when Jango was still alive. He trained all ARC's and commandos personally. So it really comes down to who they were trained by. Commandos are definitely superior to everything lower than Null ARCs. Their skills, weapons and armor alone make them the best of the best. They mainly trained as a unit true, but they were also ttained to be as effective solo as they are together. Nulls trained by Fett himself were probably the most OP troopers of all, it's a shame the nulls never lived too long though.

When I downloaded this I opened it and it was files of porn of people sitting on each others faces spinning around giving “spinnies” and they were naked. May need to check the link, cool video though!
