You should try to pick yourself up a set of thread files. I have some at work for equipment, and they may be just the thing you need for those neck boots and such. They’ve got different thread pitches, from coarse to pretty fine, and they’re both metric and standard. And just think: you’re working on your car and you bung up some threads on a fastener? Boom! Thread files to the rescue. Then, when you’re done with that and are ready for some model time, boom, thread files to the rescue for those pesky mold lines in hard to reach places. You can’t lose.

Another excellent video thank you Eagle. I got this kit in my home town Birmingham UK for £20 about $25. Not built it yet so your guide is invaluable

Wow Rusty that's awesome, the added detail you've done with the 3D printer is really cool. I wish I wasn't so intimidated by the technology. Is this a newly released kit?

Thanks! I believe it's been out a while, took me a while to find one at a reasonable price.

Paul Gertsch, The 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back was 3 years ago so the model has been out at least that long. I don't collect models but I do watch these modeling videos. I would imagine if Round 2 has the Star Wars license and AMT/ERTL to snow walker kits it's only a matter of time before they re-release them since Round 2 has possession of the old molds. If I remember correctly, AMT/ERTL had kits for the Battle of Hoth and Echo Base. They'll probably re-release the diorama kits. Star Wars and Star Trek modeling are still active in spite of how horrible the new films and TV shows generally have been; people like the sci-fi models still even if the classic design kits (TOS, original trilogy) still sell better than anything created in the last 14 years. ** Unless I'm mistaken, the Star Wars model kit license is still split between Japan, Europe, and the United States. The US is Round 2 territory, Revell controls Europe, and Bandai has the license for Japan. You can, of course, import whatever model you like but it's generally cheaper to pre-order and buy through an Internet store like Cultman TV. I doubt Hobby Lobby or Michaels will carry many of these Revell models! E-bay pricing depends on how active scalpers are that month/year and the rarity of kits but you can still find deals if you look and are patient. Sometimes, you might even find a model at a used bookstore (Half-Price Books). I saw something recently at an HPB store and I was surprised it turned up there. I can't remember which model it was -- Star Wars or something else. The price was decent ($20) but I would be hesitant to get it because you don't know if the previous owner kept all the parts together! Our intrepid Eagle Modeler is a "used goods" dumpster diver and he can relate stories about buying partially built up models. Not every "used kit" he got his hands on had all the pieces! With a 3-D printer, he's in a position to manufacture missing parts or improve on the details of the kits now!

@@AvengerII Avenger 2 Thanks for the great info. I'm a fan of the Bandai Star Wars kits and there prices have been getting higher and higher since Bandai lost there license. I got most of their ships, I ordered a Tie Advance Sunday it's was just under $100 with shipping ☹️. I've started seeing a Revell sticker on some Bandai kits ,so maybe the price will come down if they have teamed up to sell kits again 🤞. I am still looking for a B-Wing fighter, and really don't want to break the bank on it.
