Star Trek: Inside the Enterprise E (Sovereign-Class)

Фильм және анимация

This is the 3D animation of the Sovereign Class or Enterprise E from Star Trek. Enjoy!
#startrek
The Starship Enterprise E was a Sovereign-class vessel that was launched from Earth's San Francisco Yards in the year 2372
The decision was taken to christen Enterprise E following the destruction of her predecessor, Enterprise D in 2371.
She played a major role in saving Earth from the Borg invasion of 2373, and six years later also saved the Federation from the Romulans.
The ship ended in 2379 and underwent a major refit that saw Captain Picard taking on a new generation of officers as many of her senior staff moved on to other positions. following the loss of the Galaxy-class Enterprise NCC-1701-D in 2371,
Starfleet opted to make the next Enterprise a Sovereign-class ship and gave the name to a vessel that was already nearing completion.

@@Halfscreen it’s a running joke based on script inconsistencies In first contact Picard tells lily “there are 24 decks” A tactical officer entering the bridge via the Jeffries tube comments the borg have control of “decks 26 up to 11” And in nemesis, the remains beam onto the ship, the report given is “intruders on deck 29”… In case you weren’t aware, my previous comment was a “tongue in cheek sarcasm” reference to this inconsistency that is a running joke in the fandom

Actually I saw a video on the design history of the Sovereign Class and it was stated that the class began being designed at the same time as the Galaxy Class but it was shelved and sadly forgotten till after the Battle of Wolf 359 where the designs were brought out of storage and redesigned and upgraded with the new technologies being developed and it was mentioned that Captain Montgomery Scott had a hand in helping with it's construction.

The original Constitution-class Enterprise NCC-1701 was revolutionary when it first hit the small screen in 1966, a beloved '57 Chevy Bel Air. The refit and 1701-A from the motion pictures were sleeker '60 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupes. Aaaah, but the Sovereign-class Enterprise NCC-1701-E is a McLaren Speedtail.

It would be considered historical irony that the Sovereign Class U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E was constructed and launched from the San Francisco fleetyards orbiting Earth as it showed her story and history has come full circle as it was the same Shipyards where the Constitution Class was launched from nearly a century earlier in the 2240's.

Yep, I wanna see 23-deck 3D schematic of the Big-E. Your models are very enjoyable. One thing though, I always thought there were no toilets in Federation starships because they just beam it straight out of your colon and back into the replicator. Besides, all that plumbing would be unsanitary especially during battle when there's a lot of damage and some decks lose gravity. Imagine all that plumbing spurting their contents everywhere in zero-g. Nasty! Someone will have to clean it all up.

0:55)At least 3 times, Capt. Picard said the USS Enterprise-D(NCC 1701-D) was the FIRST of the type. It is an USS Enterprise-D(NCC 1701-D)Class Dreadnought. 1:13)A flagship is one that a Flag Officers use for 3C. Command, Control and Communications.Commodores(O-7), Rear Admirals()-8), Vice Admiral(O-9) or Admirals(O-10).When 2 or 3 ships are operating together, the senior officer's ship is technically the flagship. 3:15)The Sovereign Class is also a Dreadnought. 6:32)Again the Officer Commanding's(OC) office was called a ready room. Ready rooms are close to the flight decks/line. Pilots and aircrew get the mission briefings there. 6:48)Food replicators on the bridge? The 1st and 2nd Dog Watches are TWO hours long. The other 5 are 4 hours. 7:08)The ship's First LieuTenant is 3rd in command and a sort of General Manager. The 1st LT would be busy supervising the department heads. So, why a chair on the bridge? The Executive Officer(XO) is 2nd in command of the ship. XOs command when the OC is unable to command or is off the ship. 7:22)The conn is NOT some piece of equipment. The Officer of the Watch or the OC has the conn and gives orders to those standing bridge watch. The OC can be there and NOT have the conn. 7:24)Why would Ops/S-3 be on the bridge? Sometimes S-2(Intelligence) and S-3 work together planning classified missions. 7:30)The auxiliary bridge is the battle station of the XO. 8:22)The officer quarters are at the stem or bow. Very fancy "digs". One or two ships had a stern torp tubes. 6 O' Clock high.

The Sovereign Class - and the E herself - is one of my favorite canon design for the Enterprise. They nearly got rid of almost every "visible" weak-point that annoyed me to no end even in the TOS Enterprise: the thin neck. As beautiful as the refit TOS Enterprise and Enterprise-A was, the absurdly *THIN* neck was my main gripe. The Enterprise E looks like a race car that's going FAST even when standing still. John Eaves NAILED the design of the E and it became an instant classic. The only other Enterprise design which I somewhat like is the Enterprise F - even though it brought the "neck" back, it isn't so much of an eyesore as the TOS/refit Enterprise/Enterprise-A. I can forgive the how thin the pylons were for those ships - but to have a neck nearly as THIN as a pylon wherein people are SUPPOSED to be working in it drove me nuts when some schematics portrayed the thin neck having elbow ROOM for people to work/move about in it. Great video as usual, btw. Speaking of the Enterprise F, are you planning on creating an interior/cross-section of the F as well in the future?

  • @Halfscreen

It depend if I can find the schematic to the Enterprise F, I have noticed some of the newer ship don't have a deck to deck schematic, but most likely a cross-section. I will put the F as a consideration. I have to admit, the TOS enterprise and A have a very thin neck, which is a rather weak area of the ship.

I would like to propose this idea; we know that of the design discrepancy that the Sovereign class is more than 24 decks. Sticking only to what Picard says in First Contact what if the Big E was further upgraded for the Dominion War. We see that on the outside for Nemesis however we see there are way more than 29 decks. We see that Deck 29 is pretty barren; what if the bottom decks were made to accommodate Federation Marines or garrison troops for occupied planets? Just a thought.

During and after the dominion war, children where no longer allowed on ships, starfleet ships where heavily geared toward combat rolls first and everything els secondary. The intrepid class for example is a science ship/light explorer but she’s really a heavy cruiser The nova a planetary exploration ship an tiny is heavily armed and is a destroyer
