    I love that the Akira's torpedoes use those torpedo sounds they used in First Contact against the Cube

    We've seen the Akira fire photons in First Contact and probably other places, and I don't remember it spitting out 15 photons at a time.

    I like both of these Amazing ships. At the end it seemed like you were playing with that Akira like a cat plays with a mouse. The Akira is impressive with its torpedo armament and then the Lakota with its quantum torpedoes and impressive phaser arrays.

    I'm not sure how these ships would stack up tbh: the Akira is newer and can fire a huge photon torpedo volley, yet the Lakota has Quantum torpedoes and a far better phaser array....

    Too bad there are no torpedo counter measures, like phasers shooting them, or flares and the like. All these fights like to devolve into knife range it would seem, where there is no hope of dodging the torps, you can only face them with the strongest shield and rotate your sides while throwing your own torps.

    Yeah its a shame there's no point defense mechanics. I balanced the torpedoes in a way that smaller and more agile ships can evade them but its very difficult for a starship to dodge them unless they're fired at long range

    actually, there ARE...just not in Remaster. it's a script trick, and most of THAT has been pruned OUT of remaster as anti crash measures due to the engin's sheer age.

    I've got to ask if you've adjusted settings to allow that rapid fire for the torpedoes, or if it's just the controll you're using (almost like you're using a flight stick). I'd like to be able to pull that off with the ship I have in WIP

    I use the Pulse weapon system for the Akira class, just add your torpedo script of choice instead of a Pulse weapon and you get rapid fire torpedoes.

    Akira AI is stupid. Uses no side launchers and overall not rotating throug all four launchers.

    Yep its dreadful, I'm struggling to balance the ship due to the poor AI
