​@aninymouse1651 why? You'd get new characters/jobs and dungeons in older stuff like dq3 gbc thief or ff5 gba 4 jobs/dungeon. Switch dq3 took away treasures and trap doors with a dq+ fan remake being better even with 1 character. Wish they did a collector's edition but the expressions I guess are a best you can do. Terra memoria costs half as much and gives me 80 songs with an 80 page digital art book. Tactics ogre reborn goofed (unintuitive and have to replay consecutive stronghold battles that don't always lead to a plot choice) but the time travel was an interesting concept not to replay the whole game to get a new ending. Mercenaries lament did it better with new game + though you need to get all the orbs so you may need a 3rd playthrough if you miss saving Amalie (a nice way ff7 rebirth could have saved aerith without going multiverse).

As somebody who fell in love with the original game back in the PS1/PS2 era, I too also wholeheartedly feel the same way!!!

This level of content used to be what you might get in a Special Edition re-release, and they're just patching it in for free all at once. It's... beautiful.

Once I’m done with Octopath Traveller 2, I’ll be starting this game. Looks amazing

Star Ocean 2 finally got the development cycle it deserved. It may have taken an unlikely sequence of events since the SNES, and years in the making, but it is BEAUTIFUL at last.

I wonder how much Napoleon Dynamite’s grandma charged to do the voice-over on this ad?

This is just awesome. This kind of news shows how much love there is for this series and for this title in particular. I am still hunting down a physical copy of the game.

Oh man, I gotta get back around to this game, it really slipped through the cracks with all the great games that came out this year and last.

I'm saying this now... JRPG is the greatest video game genre OF ALL TIME!

I'd recommend this one. The Second Story was already a fantastic game on its own, but I'm not exaggerating that this is one of the best remakes ever.

Finally i can play this great game 13 yrs later since i had my copy for ps1

I wonder if the blood armor still would make such beyond easy lol. I'm grateful that they're doing this, I grew bored replaying the game several times to get all endings and items and this will definitely make the game more fun. I can't wait t get all new items and giving HP drain to them all.

Just don't use blood armour and u will have more challenging game on original difficulties.

If life wasn't kicking me right now I would have already played this game. When I finally have the opportunity I will definitely get this game.

I wasn't expecting this! I guess, I'm back installing SO2 for the new difficulty and boss battles

I never expected a update for this game so it’s a nice surprise but they could have added new characters in they maybe crapped during development or a new dungeon to find all the new materials needed for these new weapons.

That's so cool they added new character portraits, in general so cool they updated this game!! I really loved my two playthroughs, I wish their sprites could be overhauled too to match the art

I had so much fun playing this game. Welch's Niebelungaling battle cry still cracks me up. I had so much enjoyment with the many Fun City voice acting private action scripts with Leon having a crush on all female characters in the party. While a save file helps with seeing all of this, I'm glad they allowed endings to be replayed so that I don't have to re defeat the ending bosses with the right friendship levels or whatever they're called to see a specific one. I can't wait to see what the new weapons are but I hope they aren't crafting ones that will force me to get all characters in my team across two play throughs. I also wonder if the Bloody Armor still renders the Chaos difficulty non problematic ~

I don’t think so, as the bloody equipment is quite the double-edged sword that requires the player to monitor carefully or die trying. Basically, I don’t think it’ll be affected with this update...that is, unless said equipment is stripped from the new difficulty, which I doubt.

@@TripMX Nah, using equipments with "Lifesteal" things along the Bloody Armor, it's just so easy to monitor the HP, you might not even need to monitor the HP if the party deals enough damage

They are for the most part fairly separate. Playing the first might add a little bit of context to Claude's mentions of his father, but that's not important to understand the plot

I'm gonna take a guess and say we still can't change the glacial text crawling? How is it that we can improve on so much, have such incredible graphics, but forget the most basic quality of life option that the original game had from 15 years ago...

I don't know if Nintendo can hear me and take my idea, but once I had a dream about a new Donkey Kong game called "Donkey Kong Country: Siren's charm" where Donkey Kong island is invaded by evil mermaids, so Donkey Kong and friends must've go through the island to save it and stop the evil mermaids, and that Kiddy Kong, Candy Kong, Enguarde and Expresso have returned and some returning themes like Nuts and Bolts, Hot Head Hop, Stilt Village and Flight of the Zinger; that would be awesome. Please Nintendo release another Donkey Kong Country game.
