The state of the live servers is very bad right now. We’ve gone from wonderful performance and stability to nothing spawning in and working, and continuous crashes. Essentially it’s almost unplayable currently, so we really do need that 1a patch both out and fixing whatever some of these issues are that are severely degrading the servers.

Each server is different. I have not seen any issues personally. You could always land on a bad server.

That`s probably Xeno event, in the past it never worked smoothly, too many things happening at once, servers degrades really fast. You can get lucky and land on a server where nobody initiate Xeno and your experience will be good. But if one or more people starts Xeno, kiss the server performance goodbye.

They won’t go away. The only reason things have sped up is because they’re carrying over stuff they did for squadron. Once that’s all done it’ll slow down again. Don’t expect your capital ships for a few years. The Polaris is mostly done and it’s still going to take the rest of the year to get completely finished.

On the Clean Up mission, it literally stated you could tow the ship out of sight and complete it, how was it not intended to use the SRV to do it?

Not intended to be able to hop in the pilot seat power it up and move it under its on power out of the zone.. nothing to do with the SRV beyond shield power on results in CS

I miss SC but Im spending more time and money with games that are playable and I can progress in. Maybe by the end of the year CIG can figure out what they are doing but sadly the money they make CIG doesnt have the motivation to "complete" large chunks of what is deployed to the PU.

SRV was and now is more useless than ever for people who want to do anything with this ship and its gameplay options. 99% of the time it has no use. Wanna clean places up? Tractor beam leftover ships-> Crimestat This ship frustrated me so much i had to get rid of it. Sad but cant do anything with it. And a real gameplay loop combined ofc with a mission loop will probably not be there for years...

The servers are screwed, and they seem oblivious that the same old events shoved out constantly isn’t fun or interesting. JT2.0 got boring over a year ago, why would I bother when it’s all risk and no real reward?

@@MultiFishslayer - On current evidence, it does rather seem CIG are trying to "buy time" for Persistent Hangars. The longer this goes on, the more it seems that what they've shown of "Persistent Hangars" in ISC, SCL and promo videos has all been smoke and mirrors.

Get well soon @SaltEMike and ... happy editing! 😛 As it stands the, community would be right to have serious concerns about Persistent Hangars - I would have thought that to be of a higher priority than xenothreat "event" - I wonder if the delay on Persistent Hangars has the same root cause as the cargo/commodity related issues in the PU (including duping). Smells like an integration issue involving the Replication Layer to me.

I reckon that seat is within the Zeus. Type of design for something agile, not sluggish capitol class.

It makes sense that military components would have a higher health pool compared to others. Industrial may be able to put out more but they’ll probably wear down a little faster and not have the same health that military components would

Even if "stock components" are military, the fact that they are "stock components" is the only factor in the .a patch that dictates how much health a component has, military or otherwise.

They're going to keep milking this thing. Concept ships sold and never delivered and new straight to flyable unannounced ships at events to make money. Add one or two features, promise a bunch of new stuff that will take them nine years to deliver on, rinse and repeat until all the original backers are six feet under. It feels a lot like politics. Make a bunch of empty promises to get ellected, don't deliver on any of it, and then suddenly before the next election deliver one or two items and then make a bunch of new promises to get re-ellected. Really wish people would start voting with their wallets and get CIG to stop promising and start delivering.

@@rekrn12345yep. Ultimately CIG has succeeded where no one else has even tried. Second largest crowdfunding campaign ever, and it’s because we love these ships, we believe in this project and are in it for the long haul- however long it ends up being. The fact is, the game is absolutely amazing as it is now, and it only gets better with every patch. Whether or not we ever get a 1.0, version means nothing to me.

You are using ultra-wide monitor? I`ve seen some people with this issue when they have a different resolution monitor than whats standard, ideally it can be fixed if the FOV slider perfectly matches your monitor.

It does feel like a slap in the face to have more events that do exactly two things: Ruin the PU experience and make money for CIG when they had created the expectation of two very major updates to be expected VERY SOON that are now delayed. Seemingly (but not assuredly) to allow for yet more events that no one besides CIG want.

wonder why didn't they nerf torp tracking cone (which will make it useless against nimble ships, cuz once they go out of targeting cone torp/missile will just go straight) instead of nerfing speed dodging > overrunning

I know the asnwer for this one, the TLDR is that CIG is lazy and didn`t fully implemented a actual Missile/Torpedo simulation mechanics, shocker the game is not a game but a broken alpha. The Long version is that making something realistic is really complicated, most of the games features are in initial stages, so to make it "work" the torpedos/missiles knows where you are AT ALL TIMES, it just runs a quick "minigame check" if you have counter-measures being used, and can change targets mid-flight if enough counter-measures pops, missing the target. Keep in mind we supposed to have different tracking system for torpedos/missiles, like cross-section, infra-red, magnetic, heat-seeker, and so on... None of that BS works, they all the same regardless, plus, how flares are going to fool a cross-section or magnetic-targeting system on a missile? LoL

Also a PSA about NoiceGuy: In his Tarkov content he tended to jump the gun and rush out new videos with a lot of (unstated as such) assumptions and logical leaps that would mislead any uninformed viewers to think his cope addled theories was simply factual information that he was relaying. Not sure if he is better about that these days but it was BAD a year or two back.

I thought the moving of salvage ships were already nerfed. I would use my tractor beam, on the reclaimer, to spin the target ship I was salvaging and it gave me a crime stat for attempting to move the ship.

On the subject of money, it’s a good thing that CIG made another $100M because they have about 1000 employees now from what they’re saying. Their payroll alone would amount to about $100M/year (assuming an average salary+fringe rate of about $100K for skilled employees in this sector). That’s to say nothing of all the overhead they have in terms of real estate, equipment, software, supplies, etc. etc. So, are the ship sales and jpg sales somewhat annoying? Sure. Would it be more annoying for CIG to go bankrupt and not be able to finish the game? Yes, definitely.

all i want from life is persistent ship inventory so that i can decorate the fucking interior in peace, without worrying about the next crash or disconnect which will wipe it out of existence.

I just finished my 10th annual week long is star citizen still shit run, and my conclusion is yes it is and doesn't seem as if it will ever change. While the "game" doesn't suffer from the same old 30k spam that made the "game" literally unplayable, it's still hot garbage. The new map suffers from the same problems the first map did, and new ones. New features on top of old problems in my opinion do not make the game better, they emphasizes the ineptitude of the "developers." and this is a trend across multiple aspects of star citizen that stand out as poor quality decision making and game design. I'm begining to think my final takeaway from star citizen will be something along these lines, "Never back a company with no track record, and the game designers at C.I.G. will never surpass the marketing designers and it's not even close."
