Did you know you can use The RAPTOR to collect small items in bulk? You can collect gems, weapons, even small boxes like armor. Not sure if it fits in a bunker, but it will be extremely helpfull for those raids above ground, or tp collect guns on the new Cargo distribution Buildings.

Wow. The whole replication crash loop thing is kind of impressive. That is a damn fine indicator of how well it's coming along, if it's managing to LEGIT reproduce code that is crashing. And technically a good stepping stone for crash reproduction for bug testing and fixing.

@@MasonPieters Pretty much. But versus debug logs that can vary from crash to crash, having the ability to throw up an instance on their end that can reliably crash, recover within a minute, and then reproduce the crash with the exact same code error would be a huge time save for analysis.

As someone who has spent countless hours pouring over crash logs trying to find some cohesive reasoning behind a system failing or a fatal error occurring, and being incapable of replicating the circumstances causing the error, I see a positive to what most would just see as a crash loop, in terms of data analysis and fixing existing bugs. Is it something that will matter to players *right now*? No. But it assists with bug testing and resolution. Not everyone who finds a positive in something negative is a shill. Just like not everyone butthurt about a $45 purchase for a game still in alpha is vocal about it. But hey, here you are.

Liking the progress I'm seeing. Came back because I've been hearing good things about patches and stuff coming down the pipe.

So it looks like they're dividing it up into two phases for evo. First phase is the FPS related stuff, next phase is the flight and world related stuff. Makes sense.

Console reminds me a lot of the cargo areas on some space stations.

Reminds me of MtGO when you crash a game due to overflow of some type (usually excessive amounts of permanents). The server would try to replay the game via log, inevitably running into the same problem and crashing again in a loop.

The pace with which they are integrating features for 3.23 is a good thing. In the past they would have no problem dropping in a ton of half-baked features all at once and hoping for the best. It seems they've learnt their lesson!

Mike is just excited for a mining visor that gives him stability caluculations while he plants mining gadgets.

I thought part 3 of overdrive was the best part yet. Yeah there were bugs, and you could wind up in a situation where everyone else finished it before you could get there, but when you had the right group size and got into the action it high just right.

@@MajorShy I was on a fresh server with very active NPCs and not many players. I took a hammerhead out with two friends and the only other player there was a Corsair. I saw the whole ball of like 30 ships descend on the Corsair and rip it to shreds. Trying to fight the horde in just one HH was awesome!

Couldn’t test FPS because AC was off. Okay, so test it in the PU? Might provide some actionable data for a non-arcade game.

Thorston said it wouldn't be ready until Q2, so if I had to guess he meant summer Q2 and not spring Q2, because based on how it's shaping up with it only being in the experimental mode, we won't see engineering proper until 4.0, which is supposedly scheduled at the end of summer.

this was peak saltemike. phase 3 has been some of the most fun. I wish we could keep doing it after we fininsh it. It was so blast d oing it in large groups - i want more missions like this

I agree. I had a lot of fun doing Phase 3. It felt like a good space battle with others in the server participating and it was really smooth and performance was good for me.

I got invited to Evocati, filled out the NDA, and joined the Org ... what else do I need to do to gain access to the servers? I have EPTU, PTU, LIVE and Technical .. but no Evocati .. Any thoughts?

But, their efforts and time make the verse a better place before everybody has to deal with the bugs that inevitably remain when it finally gets to Live. I salute the many efforts and patience they provide for our benefit. Those early patches are rough, but that's the way it gets built. The rate of new features and improvements is amazing to see.

Replicating even server crashes, what a banger feature

After 3.23 is released to live will tell us if CIG can maintain pace. Will 3.24, or whatever they call it, be able to deliver similar content volume or are we back to a snails pace roll out?..

I wish I had your luck in the Evo world. Never got out of a hanger with any ship before server breakdowns. Been pretty disappointed this past week. I feel CIG has a LONG way to go before end of April with this one.

So that is why I was getting those crash loops!

Probably makes it waaaay easier to debug and find crash instances. But they absolutely need to ensure that kind of thing doesn't make it to live because....oh boy.

@@Billy-bc8pk Yknow im weirdly happy that recovery could... recover till like 30s before the crash consistently. To me it sounds like at this point Rep Layer has gotten so well they have to figure out how to tone it down xD

Ive been on controller for 7rs now. I use a Steam Controller so i can customize my layout threw steam launcher. Works with ps/xbox as well.

3.23 is coming to live soon tm. Don't hold your breath.

So, the UI not being ported over to building blocks yet. Aren't the legacy elements based on flash which was discontinued in 2017 and End Of Lifed in 2020? I wonder at what point it's going to start holding up the whole build chain in dependency hell if they don't get that legacy stuff out of there.

Im still sticking with the theory that the raptor is a hovercopter.

OD Mission 3 was fun, imho. I just regretted the absence of an Idris in the last one. Too bad OD missions do not spawn anymore once done...

DCenters arent even fully in yet. they still gotta do the underground parts! and its already huge, so its only going to get huger

Well, it is better than before. In the past, those in evocati test groups couldn't say a word to the general public on what they see and such. Now they are allowed to share it.

I just don't believe everything being tested is going to make it to LIVE. Either 3.23 is delayed well into May or close to June, or half these features get cut until later X patches over weeks after.

Yep exactly what I'm thinking. They will probably push live in June and have 4.0 Q4 of the year with a hotfix in Dec patch so they can breath on vacation...

Not sure why people would want the classic UI to go away? It's actually about the same as the DayZ UI and I find it be very functional and intuitive, plus the third-person really helps with viewing your surroundings to see if an enemy is creeping up on you, or being able to see your character as you change armour and seeing how it looks (which is important, especially since you can see the change in real-time and know whether or not it's colour coordinated, etc.). It's just very utilitarian as opposed to the new UI which is so minimalist that you have no clue how things look on your character or where anything is positioned.

Ya we aren’t getting this in April. And tbh I’m ok with that. Just get it working we’ll cig. Because if you release it to the PU and i still can’t play it because of optimization whats the point.

As a non-avocado, this sucks. They have crammed SOOOOO much into 3.23 that it feels pointless to play currently. I don't know how many more months this is going to take, but I am itching to see all the new stuff that will make this game feel more like an actual game. In the meantime I'll continue living vicariously through you Mike. Thanks for the updates!

really loving it mike, this format seems amazing for me, ofc subjective opinion but you make it easy to keep up with star citizen whats going on!

I feel like the new NDA from evo, the way they do the events reward behind paywalls, etc is still some money milking machine instead of gameplay. Yeah, even the new NDA you have for evo.They are using streamers to hype the machine. I mean, you gotta do it if you want to live with streaming, of course, but I would've prefer that CIG kept it under wrap lol

You can stop…They are not using streamers to hype things. I said both good and bad about the evo test we are simply telling the facts of what is happening. Imagine saying they are using ME to hype something, delusional.

I like how CIG is actually giving us Copium so we are distracted from the bugs that will inevitably still be in the game.

"I don't have any jokes for you guys but there might be some from Star citizen." Yeah like the Roc DS... remember how they came out with that on, or near, April fools? If they had a sense of humor they'd release the "Roc DS Deux."

All I care about when buying or selling stuff is speed. Holding down a button to buy is the opposite of how it should be. I want to buy 100 Lux instantly, and I want to sell 100 helmets instantly. And I want to drink without having to put my drink on the floor, wait for it to render, spin around to find it, then drink it.

Yes! I guess it's nice to see something on display that looks good and just buy it instead of having to search for it at a terminal. But interactions are so damn slow already that I dislike further intentionally added delays.

@@leslieviljoen Its to not make players accidentally buy things. We all know how clunky interactions can be, and to prevent players being pissy at accidentally buying an undersuit instead of the medium armor, or the ugly arms from one suit over vs the arms you want to buy. Long interact means you can doubly make sure what you are trying to buy is in fact that. And a the terminal theres a confirmation button to fill that void.

These massive UI's are either made by a console or mobile dev. So many oversized items leaving so much wasted real estate.

I have a question of which the answer will influence whether I buy a £2000 pc or not. Can Star Citizen be played with a controller?

I knew its a joke when i read "announced SQ42", but the reveal at the end still managed to hurt me.

The third phase is boring because people are killing enemies too fast. It's not really a battle. I obliterated 3 hammerheads alone with my Eclipse payload. So... yeah. The first time I played that mission, it was awesome because less people were in. Maybe the "easy mode" comes because everybody is in the same phase. If less people attack the battle, it should feel better.

I keep thinking it is a 'copium' dog.
