If we could run one of these and have NPCs man the Furies this would be an awesome ship to own. I really like in games where you can have a bunch of little NPC minions and sit back and do command and control from the back.

Something straight out of Star Wars! Great work!! Would be so cool to rush out and everyone suits up and enters they’re ship!

I'm particularly fond of the inclusion of what appears to be small fuel pods for each docked snub underneath the catwalk, that's a great way to handle the issue of snubs needing to be refueled, especially given that the Fury has such a small hydrogen tank and needs to be refueled often. One change I'd propose is, instead of making the entire catwalk portion a module like in this video, keep the catwalk from the stock Starfarer and reduce the number of Fury snubs that can be docked while allowing a player to choose either a Snub Dock OR a Fuel Pod for each section, and redesign the parts of the catwalk that are right in front of the fuel pods to have gates that slide down, move the controls for the fuel tanks to either side of those little off-shoots so they aren't in the way and can use the building-blocks function to dynamically change what they do depending on what module is installed at the module port they're associate with. So if you have a base Starfarer with 6 module ports you can have 2 reserved for fuel pods and 4 for Fury docks, and the control panels for the fuel pod module ports will be the same as always while the ones in front of Snub Dock modules would have options to initiate refueling, drain fuel from the snubs, and deploy the snubs without pilot input if needed to fire them off as large debris/decoys in an emergency. The snub dock should also fully rotate the snub with an animation that lowers them down about 3 meters so the top of each snub is below the bottom of their adjacent snubs, slides them out away from the mid-line of the ship before spinning them around to face towards the outside, and "pushes" them away from the ship. Each side of the ship should only allow one snub to dock or deploy at a time so if someone is leaving on the left side then the other snubs on that side have to wait until the docking/undocking procedure is completed before they can begin on their own sequence.

thank you for you comment. approching this as a "modular" is a great idea - you can choose either "snub bay" or a "tank" - however this would need to come in pairs - for the "balance" so you wount have fuel pods on one side and snubs on the other. when it comes to "docking mechanism" in video i used Tractor Beams from SRV as a "docking lock" so you can lower (push) snubs and rotate as you like.

Excellent work as always. The promotional trailer for one of these would have to be silhouettes of pilot boots running down the gantry, then front view of their helmeted faces before panning out to see them diverging to their snub craft. It would harken back to old Wing Commander cutscenes.

Dude it's CIG, first they will build a big new ship (that they can sell) as a Carrier for the Fury while also announcing plans "for the future" to include that in a Starfarer sometime soon(tm)... :D But for that I might even get my old Starfarer Buyback back :D

Another very cool concept. The Starfarer would make an awesome carrier for the new fury’s. And as you show here there would be a lot of space to carry them. Thank you for visualizing something a lot of us probably thought about.

They could also convert the internal cargo hold into a repair/extra fury storage. CIG could and should reduce the amount of cargo it can carry

This is the very definition of an Escort Carrier. Not a heavy warship, slower and not as heavily armed as dedicated warships, but designed to travel along with a convoy of other ships to... gasp... Escort them! Provide cover and protection to merchant and military transport Convoys. This is absolutely perfect and they'd be fools not to make a Gemini to do this and take people's money.

I always liked that external walkway. Would be great to see it getting more use!

I love this, but sadly this will never happen... as we know CIG will probably make another Carrier ship dubbed "Mirai Kūbo", it will be a variant of the Starfarer, now aimed at carrying 6 x Fury/Fury mx snub fighters. Mirai Kūbo (Meaning carrier in Japan) is a variant of the famous Starfarer lineup where MISC have worked with Xi'an to produce a resilient platform for a snub fighter carrier. Similar to the Gemini jn armaments and extra hull armor. The Kūbo further replaces the 6 rear fuel drums for 6 quick release docking mechanism specially designed for the Fury snub fighters and variants. The Kūbo will be released on concept sale with a Warbond price of US$550 (LTi version) or $600 non warbond (6 months insurance). 2033: Kūbo moves from concept phase to production 2035: Kūbo gets a redesign to be larger 2035 invictus: Kūbo price is increased to $600 warbond and $650 non warbond 2043: Kūbo is now in white box phase 2045: Chris Roberts retires 2050: Kūbo is now released in alpha 15.9.2 2055: Kūbo gets a redesign to have gold standard 2065: CIG announces Star Citizen 2 on kickstarter.... We need this as a security force carrier

This would actually make sense esp since CIG was selling the Fury in a pack of 16 ships as a Fury carrier you can equip the starfarer with an eight by eight layout configuration. Soo the Starfarer "Carrier" variant might be much larger to accomodate an 8x8 fury and fury MX loadout where instead of loading fuel tanks you load up on Furies and Fury MXs. plus this "Carrier Variant" could then quick fuel and reload those snub ships for prolonged combat engagements. 😋 thats going to be scary to see as a pirate fleet in Pyro or Stanton, make it happen CIG 🤣

​@@AstroChronicles Fine =) What about this: - Cargo: no change, we need it, it is useful for an exploration vessel. - Downstairs (2 rooms with seats): that's where major changes should happen → kitchen, social living/resting area (maybe reunite both of the rooms - Downstairs (belly turret room): radar/exploration/analysis room (with or without turret)? Or maybe delete the belly turret and merge the room with the previous one (social/living area) to make a bigger space. Or transform the one from the left in a small medical bay and living/social room to the right (bigger than the medical bay). - Upstairs: something more cosy, with more privacy, 4 beds (instead of 5) and the bathroom. Maybe replace the ladder with a micro stair to make it more practicle. - Remote turrets seats: maybe radars instead of turrets? - Cockpit: no change

only one issue I see is the need for repair. maybe add an additional feature, like above the walkway for a repair bot on a track with robotic arms to perform repairs and rearm on the Furies.

If one could get enough players to actually organize and cooperate for this it makes bounties vary easy to complete and would help tear through a xenothreat event. Otherwise not really anything in game that would bring need for this. and the starfarer's bugs would really limit it working.

While a Starfarer-based escort carrier would do well to protect refueling missions, I think an Odyssey or Endeavor would be a better base to carry Furys; the Odyssey is better armed, and had refueling capabilites, too.

Neat, but CIG seems to want to allow you to be able to "walk around" a small ship in order to do maintenance, whilst this concept doesn't let you do so. I do like this idea, a lot tho.

We can comfortably fit 8 in the cargo hold currently however I believe if you wanna try refitting the ships I would try only 6 or 7 so you have space for the replacement guns and missiles.

It does have too many beds for a tanker and loads of room for the pilots to chill between jobs. Also it was at the convention center in the back of the hall behind the Furys. It feels to me like they just didn’t get something finished in time for invictus. Maybe a few things. Docking seems pretty janky still right now, and launching from a ship that’s still in motion is currently catastrophic. Those things with 6-12 ships trying to do it at the same time sounds messy. I can’t remember how many jump seats are in the cargo bay, is it 10? I think that’s how many furys it’ll be able to carry.

@@AstroChronicles Because you only have 8 Fuel pods. Even though a Fury is smaller, it doesnt make sense for Misc to change so much of a ship. Make it so it can carry 8, 4 on each side and a walkway for the pilot and youre golden.
