true that. Stanley finds so many off hand ways to scare me with his genius. i saw him three nights ago in Port Chester with Phil Lesh. Good Lord!

Same here. 12 years of guitar playing and just met this amazing guy just now! O can't understand how he isnt more famous..

the problem is that his style is a dead end strt. U see, he cant do remote sequences bc physically it s not possible and losing dynamics. I ve known this guy from records for 30 years now but he couldnt really develop this further. Look at a Plini or Alexis Hutchings - traditional playing but more interesting and more various melodic worlds

Hutchings is good, but not in Stanley's league. His art is developed just fine, as his millions of fans (cult and otherwise), jazz festival favorite status, and Grammy nominations will attest to. His command of the technique is the next evolutionary step in guitar playing, and progress is always slow, hard and protested. So, he continues to do his thing, and during these thirty years he has been *very respected* in the jazz world, his chosen field.

I love Marvin as you might notice. I love that Stanley is a more "smooth" jazz in his up beat style and is killing it here. Gotta love Stanley and that bass player.

Stanley Jordan, is the inspirational music player, and Balawan (his best friend), is the one of Guitar Hero in Indonesia.. same technique but more unique.. :)
