Stanley Jordan’s skills as a guitarist: scarcely believable man. Guy is a genius

To me, this epitomises the brilliance and power of KZread...I had never even heard of Stanley Jordan for goodness sake.

Two greats on one stage: Stanley Jordan & Bernard Wright ( RIHP)!!

Un-believable that 4 guys can put out such incredible emotion, power, harmony... I lose myself every time I listen to this.

And to think, this very talented young MAN was once playing on the streets of Manhattan, with his Guitar Case open for change from listeners and passerby...how very blessed he really is! Love this song! :)

a 1986 Down Beat issue voted Jordan as new guitarist of Year. a long way from 1982 when Jordan stood at the mall corner near Princeton where he went to school (Princeton U, Class of 1981), playing his guitar, earning pocket money. by 1986, he got his first LP contract with then Blue Note label which specializes in high quality jazz........wow, 22 yrs ago...

Keyboard solo, just time taken away from us hearing Stanley play. I caught Jordan in LA opening for Larry Carlton back in the day, as me and my guitar buddies all had to see in person this new original innovator that's revolutionizing the instrument.

Its been 45 years and I'm still waiting for him to let go.

It's a wonderful unique, original style Stanley Jordan has and what a sound he produces from that guitar. I was lucky enough to see him perform live in a solo concert at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland UK going back some years ago.

Oh yes. My husband really loved playing his music I can see why. Absolutely amazing talent

Best, is subjective.. Who's criteria? Someone once suggested to that Amy Winehouse was better than Chaka Khan, then again I don't value their opinion on the matter 😐👍

That was a great job of bass backup; he holds a nice tight groove all the way through the tune from beginning to end. This is a great song for training bass players to lay in the pocket and hold a groove.

Just an outstanding song. Brilliant!! Stanley Jordan is a fantastic smooth jazz musician!!

I first heard him play this on a Blue Note cassette tape (remember those?) called Stanley Jordan Magic Touch. It is a couple of minutes shorter, but just as good. I also had the chance to see him play at UC Irvine in California many years ago. He is a magician on the guitar.

Wow i had heard this version ever since i was younger but i had no clue that Stanley Jordan did it. As if i wasnt already blown away from his music before.

Stanley Jordan is amazing...Bernard Wright (on keyboards) did a song called "Who Do You Love?" it's on youtube..

So, I guess when someone makes the claim that Stanley Jordan has more talent in his right index finger than most guitarists - they mean it literally! A rare talent indeed - awesome.

Bernard Wright on the keys. Wright was touring at 13 years of age, played with Tom Browne (Funkin' For Jamaica) at 16, and had an album released when he was 17. Anyone remember "Just Chillin' Out"?

Yes I remember. We used to party together whenever they came in town. Saw Tom a few years ago, not since moving down south though. Bernard was writing/performing with other artists & I have not heard from him or seen him in over 20 years now.

Had the privilege to see Stan doing a solo act in Bangkok .He played the guitar and piano at the same time blew me away he did not say much that night he let his fingers do the talking ....A night to remember thx Stanley JJJJJJJJJ

Stanley Jordan is really one of the greatest guitar players of all time. If you know anything about the guitar 🎸 or how it's played, you can see why I'm saying this, not taking anything away from George Benson rendition; but this one is really done masterfully.

Of course he isn't George Benson, he's way more innovative. I love George and there isn't any reason to compare them. However, Stanley is a trained classical pianist. If you should ever get an opportunity to see him perform live you'll be in for a real treat. He plays the piano and guitar at the the same time. In freaking incredible and unbelievable!!!!!

You can't compare Stanley to GB that's absurd! GB comes out of the school of Wes Montgomery and Grant Green. Stanley is a bad brother no doubt but to say he's more innovative you must be smoking something!
