Stanley Ghyll Falls Viewing Platform
Join me in Eskdale for a short walk to Stanley Ghyll Falls where a cantilever viewing platform has recently been installed. This is one of the Lake District's newest attractions and is one not to miss if you are in the area.

Thanks Kevin. A free car park in the Lake District! Now that is something you don’t see every day! 😀
I was watching a plane on flight radar, & it flew over Stanley Ghyll waterfall, so went into Google & they sent me this video of the waterfall & it's really spectacular ( worth watching).

Thank you John. 👍🏻 Flight Radar - or in my case Plane Finder - is something I spend hours on! I am a bit of an aviation nut! 😀
LOL No I wasn't thinking that. Definitely worth a visit.

I don’t think many people will remember that. 😂
I remember the bridge and boot!
My kids are now fed up of me going “ooooh look at this! I want to go and see this while we are on holiday!” Roll on next week and thank you for the inspiration

Added to our list and definitely will be having a swim by the bridge. Now, has that lower path eroded away, or has it erodedhendroned away. Sorry, couldn't resist. Stunning falls. I think it will be a while before we can climb the path though with peg leg😀

Erodedhendroned 🤦♂️ Oh dear 😂. Haven’t swam there myself for 30 years! Still popular though.

That’s right. I think it’s the one that had washed away at the time of recording this video.

Is there another route up to the platform that's is a bit more child friendly?

There is an alternative route, rather than follow the river you can continue up the farm track, however I’ve never been that way so I’m not sure how suitable it would be.
