Omfg you couldn't of got anyone better for Honesty Box. I love Joe Lycett. Omfg yeah it was someone in Belfast who called the police on him. We were told the show after the incident. Please do not call the police on me. As someone in the last show did. We were all shocked. Like seriously you called the police on Joe. Surely you know what he's like why did you go to see him if you don't like his work.

Setting the bar higher for comedians, expecting them to deliver new and interesting jokes that are actually creative, not supporting lazy comedians who don’t have original material… that is a good thing. So why are people so scared of cancel culture. It’s literally just about not supporting comedians/artists/… who deliver bad, lazy, unoriginal and unfunny material. Stop whining about cancel culture please I can’t hear it anymore.

Julian Clary was a lot braver for his time. I don’t think that anyone could be that brave again because Julian helped to clear the path. Some people might find Joe, Graham Norton, Alan Carr etc funnier but they’re doing all of that in a much more tolerant comedy ecosystem than Clary was faced with when he started on TV. Of course there was plenty that predated Clary outside of TV, but he made the transition from the camp weak limp-wristed John Inman / Larry Grayson types to unapologetic and pervy gays in all their filthy glory.

Lycett is a nice guy and I like him but he is dismissing cancel culture from within his own small industry bubble. If he believes that every "edgy" comedian is the reincarnation of Bernard Manning, then perhaps he would have a case for wokeness being good for comedy, but there have been a host of up and coming comedians who have had their career progression detonated for telling mild jokes that were often misinterpreted by over anxious audience members who complained to the venue.

Saw a woke comedian the other day making the most vile, unfunny "jokes"about my Catholic religion. No cancel there, we just have to suck it up

Was it about the church covering up all those priests being pedos? Because that wasn’t a comedian, that was just the news.
