I'm pretty sure Barbarossa started around when it was planned and wasn't delayed by Italian incompetence Apparently mud was a big problem and that is why every single invasion started during June (all of them, except when Hitler wanted the new tanks to arrive to the Eastern front)

@@FireSignd The Italians invaded Greece with 5 division because the idiot who was in command of the invasion wanted to get all the glory, and as such he didn't want other armies around to help him out. Similar to the Winter War, the Italians actually began the war with fewer soldiers and supplies that the greek had. One sometimes has to wonder if human stupidity really does have a limit, or if it's actually an endless pit.

“Italy was meant to guard the French coast, but was being Italy about it.” Guess Swimmy is being himself yet again.

Oil. Hitler's generals did not understand that Germany's war effort depended on having fuel for their panzers and planes. Hitler wanted Stalingrad because that would anchor the flank of Army Group South, allowing the Germans to take the Caucuses Oil Fields with relative safety.

9:51 I wasn’t expecting golden to be some sort of animal

Watching this game live was a treat. You just knew that the Axis was gonna get punished for their lack of units and you could feel the desperation in all their actions, ending with Golden deciding to push into Stalingrad in 1942 with a resigned Romania vowing to hold the flanks. It was pretty much inevitable at that point.
