It's irresponsible to still promote going there when it was already demeed unsafe due to disrepair.

That's not why it's unsafe. One person died but not because of the hike

@@brandonmathews6388 you're going to have to take the legal route. the illegal is hard as you will have to find a place to park and also you have to avoid not getting caught. the legal route is not super easy. make sure you have the right hiking shoes. and pray that its not raining. if its raining i dont suggest you hike the legal route. make sure you are going with buddies and stay on the route. have a phone with you and battery bank and download trail forks with the route loaded onto your phone. bring enough water and snacks.

We don’t really know if it was a person and in further investigation and witnesses say that they heard “help me” and “I’m down here” this could mean 2 things where that was a person who killed him or he fell or broke some bone making him stuck.

insanely disrespectful to native Hawaiians to do this.

@@alexsorov1958 because this specific hike has been closed to the public, including native Hawaiians, since the late '80s due to tourists getting injured on this hike by (often) acting irresponsibly. It comes with big fines if you violate that. Unfortunately, tourists think they can do whatever they want and often are given a slap on a wrist at most by authorities when they violate these rules. Native Hawaiians are denied access to a piece of their native homeland because of the irresponsible actions of self-centered tourists. It's a slap in the face of law-abiding native Hawaiians to see these tourists, with zero right to be there, doing something that they themselves are denied.

It was disrespectful to native Hawaiians to be built by the navy in the first place. Do you know the death count for Olomana? Why is that hike still legal. Stairway to heaven is safe if you are competent
