Wow, i just encounter your video for the first time and i've learned a lot! I mean like a lot of great tips for me to start doing right away. This is really amazing. I'll be checking all your video's. Thanks! I saw you haven't uploaded in a year which is such a shame because there are some quality video's, you deserve a lot more views. Do you perhaps have another platform where you post stuff on? Hope to see more from you in the future!

I appreciate your kind words. I don't have any other platform I post on. Currently very busy with work at the moment to put out any quality videos.

The quality varies a lot with the basic helmets. In Australia and New Zealand the best is CIG weld Hyderock. To make the helmets more user friendly I Have picked up a few tricks. Let me know if you want to see the hack. Sorry for the late reply.

Hi. Great video. Would just like to ask are you getting any sugaring on the inside of the tubes because of how thin they are? If you are, will it affect the strength?

Hey, cheers for the question. It is 1.6 mm. It will have a small amount of sugaring. It is still very strong, so I would not recommend purging the tube.

Hi, I like your videos. But I have a problem. I am welding a rectangular frame of stainless tubes, measuring heighth 60 mm and 120 mm width, 3mm thick. The rectangular measures in total 500 x 1300 mm. I welded following your steps, so the second last part was the longest part: de diagonal of the miter. Thats a pretty long weld. The result was that the weld was 'sinking'. I now have a 'valley' at that spot. No way that I can grind and sand this away. By the way: I cooled the welding area with blocks of aluminium. They became pretty hot during the welding process, so that worked well. 1. What can I do now? Can I weld another layer of steel to flatten the whole area? Or is that valley going to be even deeper then? 2. Is there anything I can do BEFORE welding such a big miterjoint? For instance welding 60 mm pins, vertical in the openening of the tube? I hope you have suggestions how to get a nice flat miter afterall.

Hey Eagle Wing, generally once the tube has sunken it is not possible to restore it to its original shape. For long welds like that you can either cut a rectangular piece and tack it in the tube. Also check the longest face with the ruler or straight edge to make sure it is flat to start with. Weld 1\4 on the section with a back step method. I hope this helps.
