I bought this model of fridge. We like it a lot compared to the others we had in the past. I always bought high end appliances. Our stove is the Miele Induction Range 30 inch. Our countertop appliances are all WOLF. The GE Cafe shares the refrigeration and logistics technology as with the Subzero refrigeration. The 4 door Cafe fridge has two compressors and 3 evaporators. It has a very advanced multi zone sensor system to keep the temperature in proper range throughout the inside of the fridge sections. Excellent fridge.

It’s so pretty too with the inside light and the platinum glass doors. You taught me some new things about it! The only thing I don’t like is the ice maker. It’s really whimpy compared to the GE Profile we had before. Have you checked out the GE Cafe induction cook top? It’s so easy to clean and modern looking. I’ll never go back to gas and big knobs - although I think WOLF has cook tops too. I stayed at a hotel that had one.

Thanks for the details, especially noting that it will coordinate with regular Cafe stainless appliances. I'm sold!

I saw one same refrigerator in a shop today. I noticed there are ice around the lower left door. I also see a customer report the same problem on the cafe website. Do you have that problem? It seems like the left side upper door is too heavy and will probably make the frame shape changed. But I am not sure if my assumption is right or not. I also see some people saying their doors has alignment problem. I guess that is also related the left heavy door.

The ice issue can be from the seal. You should call GE service and have it checked if you don't know how to check and remedy this yourself. If the seal is not seated correctly, or if it is distorted in how it insulates it may have to be replaced. Ice indicates air leakage causing humidity and this humidity at that area is freezing.

Are your other appliances from this same line? Im asking because I’m wanting to buy this fridge but my other appliances are whirlpool stainless and I’m not sure if the color is going to be so off that it will stick out.

It looks like stainless steel and just cleans like a dream. We have the platinum glass front dishwasher too and love it. Then the oven, which doesn’t come in platinum glass. So the only thing that’s not from GE Cafe is the range hood. We went with a Zepher or however you spell it. It’s a lot more powerful than the Cafe line.

So, that is the larger version of that refrigerator? 🙂

I have that same refrigerator I got it because GE is obviously better than Samsung but my only concern is when you drop water on the glass it seeps through but it eventually dries out I’m guessing that’s a flaw

I've never noticed that issue, was it from the beginning? It sounds like a flaw to me. 😬 I hope you can return it.

Any reason you chose this one over the Samsung 4 door since the price on the Samsung is roughly 40% less? Now that we've had the 4 door NOT counter depth that's the only kind of fridge I want to have and the choices are basically this or Samsung. Have you had any with this Cafe one yet?

Yes because we only looked at Cafe. My husband insists on staying with one brand and look. We liked the modern lines and style. He thought of going higher end but we decided on the Cafe cooktop. Instead of a gas stove with large knobs and grates that are impossible to keep clean. Still love the fridge. Always looks nice. So easy to keep clean. My only complaint is the ice maker is a little wimpy and you can’t fit large items in the freezer. But like all the drawers and how tidy it looks. Not just a jumbled mess that you have to dig through to find your food. But you are already sold on a 4 door. We took advantage of a really low interest rate to refinance and remodel. We blew through our budget but I think it’s been 2 years and we have no regrets.

The icemaker in what we have now has never worked right, it spits out frost with small ice chunks so it dilutes whatever you are drinking, so I've basically not used ice for years now, so anything better than that will be great, lol. Now that the fridge section isn't cooling right with temps in the 40's sometimes and it's just less than 5 years old, not sure if we are gonna try to fix this one or just buy a new one.

Between Samsung and LG, from what I have seen and read in reports the LG has better reliability. Apparently, these two have very advanced and fancy technology. As for servicing, these two can be difficult for replacement parts. I had experience with this. Better to have a North American or European built fridge and appliances. With appliances it can be like a shot in the dark. You may end up with appliances that are trouble free for some years. Or, you may end up with some issues. It is best to put the odds in your favor. I saw a lot when I was working in the service business. You basically get what you pay for...
