This song is dedicated to all those people that died before their time. To all those people that diden't have a voice.. To all those people that needed help but dident get it. We remember you. We honor you. You are with us, even though you are not here anymore. You are still here, You live still, within us.

My father, Harold Gunlogson, passed away on his 50th birthday at midnight on February 1st this year... a while before he died, he'd mentioned this was the song he wanted played at his memorial/celebration of life. Thank you, Aaron Lewis, Johnny April, Mike Mushok, and Jon Wysocki, for this beautifuly somber song. It's always been a favorite, but now for different reasons.

It’s been 2 weeks since my father has sadly gone up above. He told me a few weeks before his passing a song that he wanted me to play at his funeral. And since that day I’ve had to listen to this and remember the man who gave me all my strength, my knowledge of the land, and overall my self control. It all came from him. To anyone who sees this message just remember that you can’t change what you have once it’s gone. Cherish every moment with your family and friends. Even in these tough times live your life and have a good ass time doing it!!!!

After reading everyone's comments, it's really nice to know that I'm not the only one going through an inner struggle and this song touches straight through the heart. It is as if he takes the words from a hurting person's heart and puts them on paper flawlessly catching the raw emotion of true sadness and the feeling of being alone where no one truly understands you. They may try to understand but they just can't. However, this song did.

I read that the Aztecs considered mourning the dead disrespectful. Instead they would celebrate the life the deceased lived while on this Earth. So when you think about your loved ones that have moved on, you should smile and think of the little things that made that person who they were. And gave FAITH that we will see each other again. How awesome is that.

This was one of my dad's favorite songs, so it hurts to listen too it, knowing that i cant ever see him smile again, but i've learned that the only thing that we can do is to keep pushing, keep pushing past our grief and mistakes, I live everyday knowing that i only have memories of my father to keep me going, but i still continue in his name, for all those who read this and who have suffered through the same or more trauma than me, you can make it through this pain, just keep pushing, Godspeed!
No problem only God will take me! I’ve fought all my life! But keep fighting until God says daughter is time to go! Job well done!
It's a shame that today's pop music gets all the attention. I bet there's songs as beautiful and introspective as this today, but they're not getting the attention they deserve.

So this is it I say goodbye To this chapter of my ever-changing life And there's mistakes The path is long And I'm sure I'll answer for them when I'm gone So when the day comes and The sun won't touch my face Tell the ones who cared enough That I finally left this place That's been so cold Look at my face All the stories it will tell I can't erase The road is long Just one more song A little something to remind you when I'm gone When I'm gone The road to hell Along the way Is paved with good intentions so they say And some believe That no good deed Goes unpunished in the end or so it seems So when the day comes and The sun won't touch my face Tell the ones who care enough That I finally left this place That's been so cold Look at my face All the stories it will tell I can't erase The road is long Just one more song A little something to remind you when I'm gone When I'm gone So this is it I say goodbye To this chapter of my ever-changing life And there's mistakes The path was long And I'm sure I'll answer for them when I'm gone When I'm gone

A friend overdosed after battling addiction for years. He had been clean for years and re-built all he lost in his addiction. Then his mental health began deteriorating and his life fell apart. He started using again to numb the pain of the depression. His wife left, then she stopped giving him unsupervised visitation with their daughter to protect her in fear of him overdosing with her there or her accidentally ingesting drugs. He overdosed a few nights ago, and I am on my way to his funeral. This song reminds me of the turmoil he felt every day. He is finally free from his pain.

@@juan_solo9765 Well Arias, does Utube not categorize Staind as a CHRISTIAN Rockband ? Yes it does...and you know it, but be honest, does the lyrics of this song bring you any further into freedom from your past Arius? Not to criticize Staind nor the lyrics I do like these people, but HELL brakes loose iff I quote Scripture about real dying of yourselve. Arius, when you die of yourselve en live with Christ here on earth right now, your response would be different. And you would say: for God so love the world, that HE gave his only begotten Son, that who soever believe in HIM (jesus) should not perish, but has everlasting life. PERISH means you will dye after you dye here on earth, which means HELL forever. That is the truth. Because Jesus is te way the TRUTH and the life, and nobody comes to the father except true HIM. Love you BRO! Stephan.

To those of you battling addiction, please reach out! It's never too late to make a change, and there are so many people out there who want to help you. You are loved, you are needed, and you are not alone. 💜
💔💔💔 I just lost my bff, my Daddy. This March, Covid cruelly wrecked my lifelong Hero. He held on for his only daughter - took me a full day to get to FL from CA. He fought so valiantly and held on so hard to wait for me. THANK YOU, God - For getting me to my Father’s bedside in time - it was only then that my Dad would finally rest and allow himself to slip away from us....into the very hands of God. 🥺😰🥺😰🥺😰🥺😰🥺 Over 25+ years serving our Military and this virus stole my Papa and ripped my soul apart and shattered my heart and life into a million pieces. 🙏 I love you, Daddy!!!! 🙏 God Rest your Sweet Soul

MY HEART 💔 BREAKS AS I TELL U HOW SORRY I AM.HE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE WITH ALWAYS.
This song helped/is helping me deal with the sudden loss of my brother, I see so many comments were people have lost loved ones and I see all the kind words of support offered by each and every one of you and it helps me believe that although this life is full of tragedy's, there is still a beacon of light and a wealth of support, it's seeing a piece of music of art bring people together at a time in their lives were they feel so alone makes me realise how important music really is, its ability to unite us even if it is under the umbrella of loss, each and every one of you that has lost someone too soon my heart goes out to you remember you are not alone, and for any of you that feel life is too much please remember you are valued and loved you are needed! Don't give up and reach out we will help

@@victoriaseekret7253 Since this reply lost a friend of 45 years my skiing buddy. We met when I was 18 we water skied with a bunch of semi pro skiers. Wed after work Sunday winter mornings in Florida the fishermen hated us. We would get to the lake as fog lifts and ski until noon. Amazing times three of us remained friends for life amazing only a few people stay friends by they we both like brothers. Love and miss you Mike find a calm stretch so when I get there we can ski a good slalom and trick ski all day. During a hot summer day any time the guys wanted to cut from work.
Absolutely one of my favorite songs from Aaron lewis. The lyrics and emotions in his voice make the song so true and meaningful. Truly one of the best artists out there today.
36 year black man even still this song and the LAST REMAINING LIGHT by audioslave bring me to tears everytime.... I can't even pick a favorite.
I listen to this song because It helps me cope with my depression and I hope for those who died will remember this song as a reminder for the next life to not make this mistake you made…
this tune makes me cry every time; makes me miss my sister and brings me to tears....R.I.P. my beloved sister
It’s October 21,2020. I’ve never heard this song before today. I’m feeling very on the outside today. That’s how I even stumbled onto this . I can’t stop listening and I can’t stop crying now. I don’t know where I’m going but thank you Aaron. How you put my pain into words I don’t know but thank you.

It's amazing how your words could have come exactly out of my mouth. I don't know you but I'm just telling you you're not the only one that feels the way you do. I don't do social media or anything. I just happen to stumble upon your comment. I just wanted you to know you're not going out there

Ian Powers Celebration of Life. Thank you Aaron ❤️
Thank you for the beauty and sadness encapsuled with your words. It says so much that some people will never hear, or rather listen. It means more of me than any words could ever begin to express
Perfect song to pack up and leave without knowing exactly where you're gonna go. Exactly what I'm doing. Fresh start somewhere. Gotta leave these demons here.

This song played the day my grandfather died and he said he wanted something to remind us of him hence this song is just that. This song is his gift in spirit.
To my big brother Shane. Tough on the outside with a big ass heart. Unfortunately his heart was too big for this world. I'm so thankful for the 37 years we had together and the years my kids had you as the best uncle/godfather ever. Forever 47.
This song needs way more love then it gets!!
This song makes me cry my dad died when I was 9 and I'm 16 now love you pops RIP
Thank u angel babies 4 makkng my life still possible❤
My grandfather died a couple months ago in his sleep and it broke me down to see him go at 94 years old, he wasn't blood but when I moved into this home of a family friend I grew so close to him. He called me Jr even though we weren't related at all and I used to listen to all his stories of WWII in his days of the fight. It still hurts to this day and I feel his presence in that very house watching over me everyday.

Sorry for your loss man
This song is grieving someone who is still alive
Sgt. Ricky Edward Jones, 101st Airborne First Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, Ft Campbell Ky, K.I.A Feb 22, 2006 Hawijah Iraq Via I.E.D, Also Killing Staff Sgt. Gregson G. Gourley, Pfc Christopher L. Marion as well as Pfc. Allan A. Morr. All hero’s this was played in respect to Sgt. Ricky Edward Jones when he was suddenly killed serving his nation at only the age of 21 He was From Kokomo, Indiana and wanted to Become a school teacher but 911 was too much for this man and he and his Brother gave there lives in exchange Word cannot express there Sacrifice I Hope you all can respect what this song meant to him and what he gave for all of us Americans at the tender age of 21 ❤️
Absolutely love this song ❤️
I miss my best friend so much. 4 years gone today 😔
David cook senior who is currently passing due to cancer, this ones for you, ive never met you but i wish you well and pray for you, i just seen your comment on the live audio today, praying for you my man, this second glass of wine n second listen of the day is for you my friend
Somewhere buried deep deep in this thread, is me, mourning my lady, Jessica Jacobs. To all of us, I pray that you find comfort. There is so much pain behind this lyric, the truths are so real and razor. It's been three years and I still feel the same when I listen to it. That will never change. But this song is about a memory, a minute to say I love you! May you find peace in a beautiful song, may you find strength in knowing they live and are just waiting for us. Get your house in order, accept what you know is true, make amends, ask for forgiveness, and have faith in Jesus! There is life beyond here, that is true, and you only have to believe.
My brother passed away and would sing this with a passion..... I miss gim
