Lyrics:
I’ve been feeling out of control
There’s no healing between all the roads
And there’s no comfort
Am I losing my soul?
Is it too late, to just let it go?
Someday I will wake up and everything has changed
Until then I will dream of better days
Still living in the sorrow and learning from the pain
Until then I will dream of better days
I tried to hold on but it slipped through my hands
Do you believe in a second chance for all we’ve been through?
Don’t you think we deserve so much more than this hurt?
And someday I will wake up and everything has changed
Until then I will dream of better days
Still living in the sorrow and learning from the pain
Until then I will dream of better days
I’ve been feeling so out of control
There’s no healing
And someday I will wake up and everything has changed
Until then I will dream of better days
Still living in the sorrow and learning from the pain
Until then I will dream of better days
Someday I will wake up and everything has changed
Until then I will dream of better days
Still living in the sorrow and learning from the pain
Until then I will dream of better days

@@whenlarryhadababy9226Well I guess you’re fortunate then because for MANY of us, his lyrics have literally SAVED LIVES!! I speak for myself when I say, as a nearly 40 year old fully disabled combat veteran, former addict, and Atheist, his lyrics SAVED MY LIFE!! In fact I have some of his lyrics tattooed on my right bicep. I’ve been listening to them for almost 27 years. I grew up in Boston (obviously) and therefore we knew about bands like Staind, Godsmack, Shadows Fall, and KSE (Killswitch Engage) BEFORE the rest of the world. I was listening to Tormented and Dysfunction before most people even knew who Staind was.

@@ProudBostonian man, full respect, you sharing this, it's crazy this stuff you lived, for sure everyone got his battles, and for some of us it's tougher than the rest, when you say combat and addiction and atheism i can understand, i'm a christian lebanese living all my life in lebanon, you'd understand. Staind and other realists musicians were introduced to me by my older brother, and man we lived some heavy shit here and still.. this kind of music like this song and its lyrics, hits so deep to the level that only the few can understand.

I've seen Aaron live more than any other artist. My bff used to go see him in little places here and around Nebraska. Unfortunately, Nick lost his battle to addiction and I've not gone to another one since because I don't think I could. Aaron is seriously funny in life and his voice is one of a kind.

This is so good, he always poured his heart out. When I was I teen I felt his pain. This song has a glimmer of hope which makes it that much better. I remember recently wanting to take my life, sick of who I became on drugs, JESUS stepped in and gave me hope, I am battling cancer right now and raising toddlers with my wife. There is hope in christ that words can't explain. Our better days are now.

Damn this song is hitting hard. My dad is declining badly. Soon my stepmom, my wife, our oldest, and myself will become his caregivers. All I've been thinking about recently have been the better days as a kid hiking, biking, doing martial arts with my dad, him at my tournaments, or my wrestling meets in high school, having lunch with him once a week when I was going to BSU and he was working for the state, me and him going night skiing at Bogus Basin, going to my first concert with him, and so much more. Hoping he still is active enough to enjoy his first great grandson coming into the world very soon.

I can't help but read the comments of so many fans. Staind was and is the only reason that I used to face another day as far back as I can remember. The dance got easier when I learned to "let go and let God." I named my son Aaron because of this guy and Jameson because of my brothers favorite whiskey. RIP Brother. The hole you left behind in my life has never been filled. I'm positive I can write an entire book of the worst endured but this song is about finding something to hope for to see through the darkest of times. I pray all of u find your way, and allow yourself to dream!?!!!!

Same here. It’s already hard feeling stuck in slow motion from everything else in this world, but to be here sometimes frozen while time spirals out of your control, losing those closest to you and your life’s purpose gets boyfriends and moves on with their adult lives and the prayers that are sent not only in your mind but beat through your heart to be well again without any burden to your friends or family so they don’t get just as tired of the illness as you are up and forget you even exist…I can move on and get over many many things in life…it’s the gas lighting and the targeted individuals who get harassed from something people fear what they don’t even understand and even doctors today refuse to see you for fear they could lose their license like many already have…. It’s like where is the love? Where is the motivation? Where is the hope? Where does one turn when their light is fading away??? I hope your experience with this disease is much better than mine! Prayers for you my friend! Bless 🙏🏼

Chris never fails. He knows how to write a song that's for sure and he delivers every single time. I've been a fan since Idol days. I remember exactly what I was doing the first time I heard him on the radio. I knew exactly who it was. He has such a unique voice. He's in a league all his own. Wish he would be recognized more. These last couple of years must have been so difficult for him and Deanna and their entire family but he has taken that grief and pain and poured it into his music and still making hits with it. He's so dedicated even in the worst of times. Love you Chris!! ❤❤❤❤️

This song is phenomenal and just gives me memories of my life growing up and the fight I’ve had all my life to make it this far. Growing up with a mother who walked out on me and a father whose alcoholism was first on his mind. I made it out of that broken home and have my own family that I try to do better for. I don’t smoke or drink, but the mental scars I have will always remain. The hurt has never went away, but better days have happened and my dream of a great life is a reality. I’ll never forget my past, I will learn each and everyday from it.

Fantastic song and collaboration. Been a Staind fan since their debut album. Recently discovered Dorothy, and loved her duet with Scott Stapp. I love duets like this, and am really loving the new music. Putting 2 fantastic voices together is just magic :)
