Stacy's Video Diary: Jac- Episode 5-Third Day, Part 1- Make your body language strong

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Jac at 1 hour 20 minutes of training. This is day three and there have been major changes overnight in Jac.
Jac is focused and engaged. He walks quietly and his attention stays with Stacy. Jac accepts the stick n string, Stacy jumping around and rarely pulls on the rope. Jac even lunges on a loose line. Stacy explains how she gathers information, why she can now use the stick n string, how important Stacy's body language is, how to keep a horse out of your space, how giving a horse a break IS the reward, and how to taylor the training program.
This is the story of two-year-old Jacs Electric Whiz (Jac), the last baby out of Whizards Baby Doll, better known as "Roxy". Roxy touched the hearts of horse lovers around the world when she and Stacy Westfall made history with their bareback and bridleless freestyle reining ride. The loss of Roxy in 2012 has left a void in the equine community. Although nobody can replace her, Roxy's spirit lives on, not only in our hearts, but in Jac as well.Join us as we follow Jac through weekly videos documenting his training journey from his first session to his first show and more. It is a journey filled with questions, breakthroughs, setbacks and accomplishments... and everything in between.

Don't worry, the lighting gets better in future episodes (we were learning). Yes, horses do have good and bad days emotionally. Lol, these videos are kind of like a barn tour!

Yes!!! I always tailor my training programs to fit the horse on that specific day. If he is needing more emotional training, then I work on that. If he is emotionally sound that day, then we do more physical work. Hope that helps! :)

Like people, do horses have "good" days emotionally and off days?
