Reminds me of building a custom Apple computer. ”Would you like an extra GB of memory? That will be $500.” 😆
Steel frame for sure, only reason I can see for a second barrel is if you want a comp’d barrel and a non-comp’d barrel as the comp they use is supposed to be installed by them (IIRC). Serrations are fine for a competition pistol, for a duty gun, just another point of entry for dirt or whatever other debris can get in there. Trigger is whatever, I’d probably opt for the lighter trigger but not a necessity. Safariland and others are making holsters for the larger optics….if you can figure out how to order anything from Safariland.

I still think you should take a staccato ranch class and give us the scoop
3:43 it makes sense if you want to take her on with another caliber, infinity has this interchangeable breach face system ,it would match with the second barrel you order that could be for any caliber you wish it to be. In my case I got a 10mm barrel.
Love to see you get hold of a Bul Armory SASII 4.25". Much harder to source though.
The 507 comp fits in my Safariland Staccato duty holster
8:30 yeah I’d buy that ,sounds about right .
Btw, you can ask for 2.5# trigger on P if you want that. You have to actually ask. It is available but not advertised.
The GX Products Vice works great for the 507 Comp on a 2011. Clearance is fine.
The stainless bull barrel is the best, it also looks the coolest 😎

I prefer the dlc bull barrel non threaded
The only reason I can see adding the additional barrel would be if you plan to port it and want to switch between the two. The barrel is about $500 or so if you do it later. IIRC.
The extra Barrel is so you can have the gun ported, and still have the stock barrel, to switch out as wanted. Get the x serrations and Steel Frame 👍
DLC barrel X serrations 3 1/2lb trigger Holosun 507 Comp Alllll the mags 😂 Jeff at RDR gear can answer any questions about duty holster fitment.
Ben, STEEL frame !!! Stainless bbl., slide cuts & trigger weight your choice, definitely Holosun 507C, xtra 20 rd mags - good plan, especially if youre using it in an LEO class, very much a duty pistol.
Ben, I think the steel frame is the most common. Personally would not do the trigger job, slide serrations or the threaded barrel... if this pistol is so good then shoot it entirely stock with a red dot and see how it holds up.
My P19 Heritage Limited edition (4.15”) is by far my favorite pistol I own. Breaking it down and cleaning it every few outings isn’t a big deal. ACRO P2, x300, red dirt trigger. Buy them locally with a pretty good discount

@@Osprey1994idk if you’re just commenting to see your self type or just dense? Midwest shoot center is a rather large retailer in this area. They are a Stsccato dealer. They have a number of membership options including retail membership. My P19 Heritage LE 4.15” sticker price was 2999$. My retail membership took it down to 2540. My P was 2090. The only guns I need to entertain ordering online are custom.. I was 1 of the first few to have a Watchtower Apache Pew view.. and didn’t have to order it 😂
My XC w/ 507 comp will work in safariland ALS holsters. The SRO sits to far forward to allow the ALS to lock.
“However…” 🤣
The reason they offer an additional barrel at purchase is because they require you to send the gun back to them to get a new barrel fitted to your gun.
I bought a staccato C2 with the bull barrel and a compensated barrel. I thought this was an excellent option for me as it would give me a backup to my sti steelmaster as well as a limited optic gun. Also the c2 bull version would be excellent to carry. Multiple uses for me was a selling point.
If you have the standard barrel but “might” run or try a comp or silencer later I could see getting the extra barrel that is threaded just to have ready.
7:37 in today’s market. There is quite a bit of people who could provide you a retention holster with almost any optic. Then once they find out Ben is asking then for sure it will be a priority project.
My 2¢: -I don’t like the X cuts -I prefer the duty trigger -Aluminum would be lighter for carry, steel should in theory remain tighter, longer. I prefer the steel for longevity. -The DLC barrel is nice; cleans easy, abrasion resistant, lower frictional coefficient. -you already have an extra barrel in the XC. Spend that $ on recoil springs. -Strong side only safety. -ditch the fiber optic for a solid front post. Have always appreciated your content, this staccato talk is more “confirmation bias” and entertaining than it is educational, but I dig it. Great channel.
I really like my Staccato P, no regrets on buying it.
I love the staccato P. 10k rounds through mine. Replaced the recoil spring twice now. Only issue I've had is failure to lock back. This only happens when the gun is under-lubed and dirty.

Do it, you won’t regret it.
Threaded DLC barrel, X-serrations, get the trigger lightened
507 comp will fit in the Safariland 6395 and other 6000 series retention holsters
Extra barrel from the get-go, if you want a threaded and non thread barrel in one shot. Makes since when ordering, since the barrel's are not a drop in fit. Might get lucky but most need to be fitted to the gun it's self
The engraving should be "staccato p 'enis' "
Just order the safari land one cut for an aimpoint acro. It fits the 507comp I had on my Bul SAS Tac II
I say you go full stock with the 508t. I believe the sro still has issues with the retention holsters like the safariland. Also, Steel frame is the most common.
I would personally do the DLC non threaded barrel, X cuts and 3lb. Trigger with the holosun on top

@@coltonwatson4907 for actual duty I probably wouldn’t just bc of possible debris or something getting in. But for him for use as a training tool, why not? They probably offer a better grip able surface over the standard, lighten the slide and maybe help barrel cool slightly faster. Im not saying they aren’t overhyped. I mean it’s a $3k pistol being used for training. Might as well go all the way.

All for show.
Having an additional barrel just gives you the ability to leave a comp on one and the other naked.
Great move. I chose the P over the XC, can't wait to see your videos. Not a Staccato fan boy or anything. Just interested.
DLC is smoother, slide cuts and 3 lb trigger 🎉 Go ahead and order a CS as well, great carry piece to round out the collection 😅
The Holosun 507 comp will fit safariland and Blackhawk t series duty holster just fine. SRO will only fit the newer safariland holsters
They supposedly released a P with the 2.5 lb trigger like the XC. Mine is steel frame with DLC barrel which I think looks better. Also if you want a spare or threaded barrel to add a comp later you save money by ordering with the gun. Otherwise you have to send gun back to staccato for them to fit it and the barrel is $600.
The P has ballooned in price recently. It’s not even entry level for a 2011 anymore.

Just marketing doing marketing as less expensive options are entering the market. Instead of pursuing innovation, they are increasing the price of their products to make them seem more premium while nothing changes with the product itself. X cuts for spite. love it!
Look at US Duty Gear for duty holsters. Their Safariland 6390 clone fits my XC with 507comp. I believe the model us 281.
Multiple barrels allow for different chambers, so you could have a gun setup to go 9mm Major and 9mm Minor with just a barrel swap. Thats about all I can see as a use for it.
My staccato xc w/507 comp fits any of the safariland retention duty holsters. The sro wont....i totally ruined the internal lock trying to make it fit and had to get a replacement.
Heck yeah! I think you will dig the P more. Snaps back on target quick and less cleaning! I would get the grip textured or buy the Vulcan Machine works aluminum grip. Do the 3lb trigger, x serrations, non threaded DLC barrel, steel frame. I run a C&H plate. Sits lower and more secure than the Dawson. But Atlas mags. Same price about and better quality.
I have a P with the 507 comp and am waiting for the safariland holster to show up. I ordered the holster that accepts the acro hoping that will give enough room for the 507. I'll update when the holster arrives.

Correction to my holster, it is for the 507/rmr and fits well. It might get some wear on the corners of the dot housing but no big deal.
Using a 507 comp on a bul sas ii and have zero issues from holsters comparability
My buddy's P with an SRO doesn't fit in my Safariland holster designed for a P with an RMR, i think its the length of the optic. Sample of one and they might make one for an SRO but just FYI.
Holosun, one threaded one none threaded barrel to allow for going to places you can't have it, training with cans and maybe even testing some of the threaded comps down the line. The X serrations to troll and maybe try one of the big sticks to see how long they last without a rebuild at high round counts. Show us are the stacattos mags the reliable easy mode 2011 mags we were promised
@HWG-wm8ld

No reason to train with a suppressor. Their mags are good.
Extra barrel probably to give you the threaded and non-threaded options. “Drop in” barrel is not really a thing in better quality 1911s.
Have you considered getting the Staccato CS? I have one with a Trijicon rmrcc and love it! I’m looking at getting the p for home defense next! As far as optic for your P try out the Trijicon rmr hd!
4:14 😂😂
You can adjust the trigger weight very easily yourself. It's probably one of the simplest things someone can do to a 2011. There's a few guides out there. I took my P from ~4.5 to ~3.25 in about 15 minutes.
I have several thousand failure-free rounds through my P. Reduced TPW for competition and Dark Side Precision grip work. I've had to reduce the right-side safety considerably but that's to be expected.
I have 2 Staccato Ps I use for USPSA. One with the serrations and DLC coating, one without. Otherwise identical, 507 comps, did my own trigger work and parts work myself. Have about 10k rounds through my main one and 4k through the backup gun. The X serrations are purely aesthetic. They are functionally useless. Same goes for the barrel DLC. I think they are actually great guns for the price, but the prodigy has replaced them as the best dollar to value for competition guns (which is not what you want it for I know). But all if this if qualified with "you get the most value on these if you work on them yourself."
Definitely get the dlc barrel. Makes cleaning a breeze and lasts way longer but I know your not gonna be cleaning much anyways lol
Like a kid in a candy shop.
US Duty Gear can make you a retention holster for the 507Comp. Not being paid to say it. I just know they’re one of the few companies who do it.

The P with the 507Comp fits into a Safariland ALS no problem.

You should have received an extra optic mounting plate with your Xc. If yes you can save a few $$ and buy you 507 comp and mount it you self.
DLC is awesome
They want to know if you want a regular barrel and a threaded barrel for a comp or suppressor
Steel every time for the frame (I have Staccato's with both options and now will always pick steel if it's an option).

@simonizedpb

@@peterquinn2997the extra weight makes for a better shooting gun and absorbs more of the recoil. When I carry a gun the extra weight is not an issue and I can't tell that the gun is heavier. When I shoot the lighter guns are snappier and it is noticeable to me. I have tungsten weights in several of my carry guns to make them shoot better. Allegedly the steel will last longer and keep tolerances but I don't really see that being an issue for me/most people.
Just buy one that is in-stock somewhere and get going 👍
I’d be more interested in you getting a DWX for a “backup” pistol.
Stick with the steel frame, the slide to frame fit will last longer.
Different barrels would probably to shoot uspsa LO with out a comp. And idpa CO with a comp. 🤷🏼♂️ only reason I could see people wanting 2 barrels. Or to run suppressed at some point.

I thought everyone gets an additional barrel? I keep mine in my pocket during matches and let it flop around to assert dominance.
DLC coating basically behaves like a much-improved black nitride is my understanding. It's more durable, lower friction coefficient, less likely to fuck up the heat treat - pretty much a straight upgrade across the board.

I've got a P for sale pretty close to what you speced. It will be significantly less $$$ than $3000. Low round count.
do an atlas guworks 2011 next, same magazines
Why not just have the optic direct milled? It would likely be cheaper. I think I'll do this on my next 2011 build.
Hey Ben, regarding the question of getting an additional barrel; with all the shooting you do, have you ever burned through a barrel on one of your pistol? It seems to be a bragging point amongst guys who go through thousands of rounds per month through their guns.
Your current Staccato barrel is DLC so how do you like it? As far as paying for a reduced trigger is something you can easily do your self, I reduced my model P to 2.5# with no issue.
Why not get the Staccato XL? That one is more catered to competition. Longer Barrel and Sight Radius plus crisper trigger comes in nice. The P is really the duty model.

That's what he's trying to do. He teaches classes where a number of his LEO clients are running their duty guns, and he has an XC already.
If you are so target-focused, why have an SRO or the Holosun Comp? Theoretically, wouldn't a smaller optic, like a 507k, perform equally well since you practice with occluded optics? Honest question.

You want it cause with the amount you shoot. By the time you need another barrel you’d have to send in the entire gun to the manufacturer or gunsmith to have it fitted. It’s not like a Glock where you can just throw a barrel in. Just future proofing

You don't need another barrel unless you want a threaded one to put a dawson ice comp or suppressor. I would highly suggest getting the barrel with DLC coating and not in stainless steel. The DLC looks nicer and is a bit slicker / needs less oil at least in my experience after having a stainless barrel XL. Stick with steel frame. That's the OG standard model P.
