Derecho line of severe thunderstorms with high winds, numerous reports of tree limbs and trees down and quarter to larger size hail with the storms.

Usually with a derecho the trees are not quite so motionless. Interesting cloud formation, and no denying the pea-size hail, but the gust wave that defines a derecho is missing.

I thought in that state you'd get these kinds of storms every summer. In Oklahoma and Kansas these occur weekly in sections of those states. Maybe I do come from a relatively calm state as far as weather goes (Oregon) but even we can get hail that size and 60mph winds on the occasion. I understand and completely share your enthusiasm for storms (I myself have a strong curiosity for it since I was in middle school!) but I'm not quite as high-strong (or excited) in my videos. ;) I would love a good chase or two in the central US, not sure I want to really live there though. I usually don't like to be overly critical when I watch weather videos but most of the time "power flashes" are mentioned they appear as only lightning. I have witnessed power flashes in windstorms and they are always blue; typically a different color than the lightning occurring in storms. Also power flashes don't illuminate an entire sky, rather they are more localized bright lights and the flashes themselves last longer than lightning (maybe like a strobe light? Not sure if this is an accurate description of them...). There are a few legitimate power/transformer flashes in these videos so I'll admit that but 99% of the flashes seem to be lightning in the videos.
