St. Joseph's Indian School: Powwow 2018

Powwow is one of our favorite times of year at St. Joseph’s Indian School. It is a chance for the Lakota (Sioux) students to dance and connect with their culture. It is also a time for our donors to visit and experience our campus, the work they make possible, and the incredible powwow spirit for themselves.
For some students at St. Joseph’s Indian School, our annual powwow is the only one they will get a chance to dance in. Connecting students to their Native American culture is at the heart of what we do at St. Joseph’s.
Hear from our dedicated staff and donors alike as to how important and amazing the St. Joseph’s Indian School powwow is.
St. Joseph’s is a Native American school dedicated to improving the quality of life for Lakota (Sioux) children and families. As an apostolate of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, St. Joseph’s mission is to educate Native American children and their families for life - mind, body, heart and spirit.

I recently learned about St. Joseph's Indian School....These kids are part of a unique culture that they can be proud of. I Thank The Creator for working through the people involved who orchestrated the founding of this school. It is such a very important part of their lives to truly know who they are and to be a significant part of their heritage.......HOKA - Hey !!

I love this video. The only way it could be improved is if it were longer. I'm unable to come to the PowWow, so I'd be happy to see more of the dancing and competitions. Thank you for showing their proud happy faces. Gin
